View Full Version : Nick@Nite in March 2008
Pavan 10-14-2006, 05:43 PM Early word is that the show is coming to Nick@Nite in March 2008. This is still not official, so it is subject to change. All I know is the show has been licensed through end of Feb. 2013, meaning it will be a 5-year deal. I'm not sure if it will be on both ABC Family or Nick@Nite, or just Nick@Nite. This is too far to tell, so keep it unofficial until Nick@Nite announces.
Dennis Dubois 10-15-2006, 11:50 AM Even if this was true, either N&N would either throw it to the corner, or overplay it. ABC Family is treating it well now. Even though it is played at 7AM eastern 7 days a week, at least it's playing twice daily. I love Family Matters, and to see it go to the "channel of death" may be a disappointment to me. The only good thing would be if it actually did well and was played fairly.
Pavan 10-15-2006, 12:33 PM Family Matters would fit well in the shows that do "well" for them. It has done well in syndication like the shows Full House, Fresh Prince and Roseanne. The shows that don't work on Nick@Nite are the ones that do not deal with families...NewsRadio, Wings, Murphy Brown, Mad About You, etc...what were they thinking?!
Scoobiedoo30 10-15-2006, 02:00 PM I also think amily Matters will Fit well on Nick@Nite Schedule

Why do N@N constantly add Non-Family Shows to their lineup?-lol

Well, excluding the last one, they were certainly entertaining ME, that's for sure. The first three are three of MY favorite shows.

Family Matters needs to replace Roseanne TONGHT!
Dennis Dubois 10-15-2006, 08:32 PM The things mentioned give me hope. However, still there is a chance that Family Matters will be "overplayed" (which for me is great), but all I want not to happen is members on forums to say "no more Family Matters" like for Roseanne and Fresh Prince.
I just remembered that if N&N is smart and remains with the same format of showing credits, we may see the closing credits again!! But that's 2008, things can change.
JulieSomoski 10-15-2006, 09:16 PM Family Matters probably do well, being a Family sitcom. They need to start adding some better Family Sitcoms like Step by Step.
The only family show that hasn't done well was Who's the Boss?: wonder why.
Home IMprovement will probably be the next Full House: it is popular, does well in syndication, and just seems like it could be a transition show.
Scrubs: What are they thinking? It will probably be the next NewsRadio.
BY the way, how long do they have SCrubs for?
The Nanny: May do well(family show), butits a lifetime show, and other liftime shows(Mad About You, Designing Women) have not done well.
Friends: Probably will, and could be the first nonfamily show to hit it big.
Do you know when Roseanne, Fresh Prince, Cosby, and Full House expire on NAN?

Maybe we won't see these weird edits ABC Family has had either. Doing commerical breaks in different spots in a few episodes, it's annoying.
They can have all kinds of specials with the show as well. Urkel inventions, the vacations(Disney World/Paris), and the show has a dozen Halloween and Christmas episodes.
TVJunkie101 10-16-2006, 09:56 PM I'm with everyone else -- I think Family Matters will do great for N@N. I can't wait for it to start airing on N@N.
I agree Seth, I loved a lot of those shows N@N picked up (Murphy Brown; Wings; A Different World, etc.) but it appears they just don't work for N@N. Family shows are what work. It makes sense because Nick is a family network. I dunno. We desperately need like an all 80s/modern day hits channel... that's NOT Nick@Nite.
FrankCostanza 10-25-2006, 04:13 PM I am very pleased to hear that Family Matters may be coming to N@N in March 2008. ABC Family's programming of the show is horrible because it comes on too early now, they butcher the episodes with their insane editing, they skip the end credits, show the wrong and extended opening too much, and much more.
N@N needs this show IMO because their programming is getting crappy as hell with shows like Roseanne, NewsRadio, Mad About You, and Designing Women! WTF!!! Full House has been given the back seat and I'm afraid the same thing will happen to Fresh Prince soon, but I can live with that because both of those shows are on DVD unlike this show.
I really hope that N@N airs this show in the proper order with no skipping so I can tape them because my attempt to do that with ABC Family failed for obvious reasons. This show may never come to DVD and if I can get them all on tape then I will have every single episode of all my TV shows on VHS (this and 8 Simple Rules) and on DVD that are available. Certain shows have yet to release all of their seasons (The Jeffersons, The Simpsons). Hopefully they will be complete before I finish college!
fullhousefan91619 10-25-2006, 06:50 PM Yeah, but abcfamily does air alot of scenes cut in syndacation like cold opens, and the extended theme song. It will be nice to see closing credits as well, I only saw this show once or twice on a network that aired them.
JuicyCoutureGirl 10-25-2006, 07:49 PM Family Matters needs to replace Roseanne TONGHT!
 You ain't lying! As much as I dislike Family Matters, someone please replace this show with Roseanne, right now, this very damn second!
Scoobiedoo30 11-15-2006, 07:10 PM Family Matters will do well on Nick@Nite
Daffyfan2004 12-24-2006, 07:29 PM Yeah, I actually prefer watching "Full House" on N@N since they don't have all those extra long commercial breaks that ABC Family has. Of course, ABCFamily uses the extended opening for the first three seasons. I don't think N@N would do that. I guess we'll just wait and see.
SimpsonsFan 02-02-2007, 02:01 PM It's been a while since i've been here. But that's great to here that it'll be on N@N!
Dennis Dubois 02-04-2007, 04:26 PM Maybe N&N will end up picking up the show earlier than March of 2008. TVLAND was supposed to pick up The Jeffersons in September last year, but began airing the show around July instead. I know the two stations are not connected anymore, but maybe it is a possibility.

That would be great. Family Matters really fits in at N@N and I cant wait to they start showing it.
hughpuppies 03-24-2007, 09:27 PM Family Matters needs to replace Roseanne TONGHT!
I totally agree, how many dang times a night do they need to show Roseanne, Fresh Prince, Sanford and Son and a few others?
They played them so many times I am sick of theses shows for a few years.
Brimi 04-10-2007, 04:50 PM Wow, I would love for Family Matters to be played on N@N on a good time such as 9 or 10 on week nights so I could be able to watch it (maybe a few times when I'm off from school or home sick) The time on ABC Family, isnt good for me because I miss it despite their genorocity playing the episodes. Even so I think Family Matters does really well at Nick @ Night with most sitcoms.
