Today’s Oprah show was on “Truth and critical thinking”. A couple months ago, I added to my signature that “truth” line. I’ve been interested in this concept for a while.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people dismiss truth because of feelings, ego or spite…I guess.

Truth is important. Here are my thoughts:

Only people in the wrong would want to cover the truth.

Remember: “The truth shall set you free”? The meaning I get from this is - You can work with facts, and improve a bad situation, or build on a good one. With false info, you can only head down the wrong path. This may seem obvious to you, but I see people shut out the facts all the time.

The show is not called: "The myths of Life"

And, people can come to different conclusions using rational thought. They’re not nessesarly stupid or evil…..or traitors. But alot of people come to conclusions without thinking about it unbiasly.

History class is important because we can learn from the past. What if someone re-wrote our history? Should we still read it?

Facts shouldn't be ignored
Integrity shouldn’t be lost

Supporters of the Iraq war ask opponents: “what’s your alternative suggestion”. When Oprah did a show on alternatives to the war, she got the worse hate-mail of her career. Does anyone really think Oprah’s a traitor? ...or evil?

And what is their definition of traitor? If it’s: “against the administration”, then what about when Clinton was pres?? Were anti-Clinton people traitors?

If the Iraq war supporters are justified, the truth won’t hurt the troops or the US. It would help.

(a year later...)
It's interesting that no one wants to pursue this topic.
Well, in the last year, my level of hope has dropped even more for 'civilization' improving. So I've just been focusing more on my life and makin' it better. And it is. I'm havin' some "Better Days".

It's just a good thing I didn't buy that house in California.
