I would love to see it, but I know the chances or finding it are impossible. It must be around someplace.

Ask Harvey
Lord. I didn't know there was a 1911 one. I thought 1972 was the original. Then there was Beyond the Poseideon Adventure, then the 2005 TV movie, and now the current one. Anyway, Harvey said he and Fred Flintstone were extras in the 1911 version.

I didn't know about it until a few months ago. I read the book thinking that it was the original work, and it wasn't.

Sorry to break this to you Matt, but a so-called 1911 version of "The Poseidon Adventure" is a fraud.
After seeing this thread (and being an avid Titanic buff and never having heard this story before) I did extensive internet research. Click on the link below to read a news article explaining WHY this is a fraud.

Regarding the snopes.com page you linked to in your original post saying that this is a TRUE story -
Snopes is a very well known, reputable site which is known for publishing the truth about urban legends and frauds, right??? So if snopes.com SAYS it is a true story, then it MUST be true, right??
WRONG.
If you would have bothered to scroll down to the bottom of the snopes.com page and click on "More Information About This Page" you get THIS page:
http://www.snopes.com/lost/false.htm
Basically, it was an experiment to warn people not to believe everything you read as fact. And it states "Everything in this section is a spoof".
So "The Poseidon Adventure" was NOT screened aboard the Titanic and was purely based on the 1969 ORIGINAL novel by Paul Gallico. Besides, if anyone has EVER read ANYTHING in depth about the Titanic, there was no movie theater or screening room on board to begin with!!!!

Wow, they fooled me-lol
I am kind of disapointed now. I was hoping I would find it and now I obviously can't. I could never find the link through the IMDB and now I know why.
