Online using ISO files/ DVD vob files. etc? RedWhine56 10-12-2006, 01:09 PM Most traders on this board trade DVD VOB files but I've never seen any mention of P2P trading (on this board). There may be a few who are able but most here trade strictly via snail mail. Tynico 10-12-2006, 01:12 PM Okay.. well just asking bcuz im in toronto and using snail mail isnt the best. Especially since sending dvd's across the border.. in large quanties... can cause issues.. customs..cuz its copyrighted material. pupil1313 10-12-2006, 01:35 PM There are some Canadian traders that I dealt with, and some even sent 50+ dvd's and I got their discs, with no problems on their part. Tynico 10-12-2006, 03:01 PM There are some Canadian traders that I dealt with, and some even sent 50+ dvd's and I got their discs, with no problems on their part. well yes, i have sent disc's as well..not multiple thou. i was just concerned...dont want no drama savageamusement 10-12-2006, 05:22 PM Nope Peer to peer isn't allowed on here. Should peopel wish to trade, they need to arrange to do so through the post office etc. peer to peer, which is also at times refered to as Torennting, brings forth the legal complication of the site hosting and their responsibility into the matter. For example, if you choose to send season one of Cheers- and break copyright laws, so be it. If you upload, using a server, they can face legal charges. If you feel canadian shipping isn't possible to the US- we do have several canadian only shippers, or UK only shippers, or US only shippers and so on. You can post specifically ONLY looking to trade canada to canada. PEer to peer can be an excellent choice for some things, but it opens up a whole legal can of worms as well as safety risks for file transfer/virus and software problems and or implecations. As you said you are concerned with sending copyright items acorss the Canadian border, you can imagine the same risks woudl occure online, using a server as a host for such illegal trading. Please note as well on the rules: This site, does not allow the trading of retail whatsoever, and users foudn to post or trade retail are asked once to cease, and after that subject to suspension or removal of their account. My suggestion is make a list of non retail items you care to swap, and where yo ucare to swap them and post it- and find trades that you are comfortable- at the same time of complying to the rules here. |
