At first I was hesitant of trading with Savageamusement as the name implied a wild biker chick on a Harley with tattoo's on her upper forearms. To my pleasant suprise she turned out to be a lovely young lady. No bike but plenty of tatoos. Anyway we just completed a trade with great communication, fast turn around and delivery as promised.

Hoping to trade with her again and this time being in the front seat.

It is a thankless job sometimes, but when all goes right and thigns run smoothly- its very enjoyable-

Trading, in general is usualyl very enjoyable to me- even depsite the bad apples.

I find I am catching them quicker and quicker, and take no bad trader lightly. I have even gone as so far as to report to ISP providers, getting rid of some by their very IP-

I can't rid the board of every bad intended trader, but I can defiantely see a difference and that is why I do it.

But a lot of thanks goes to those who report the posts, who confront the scammers and bring things to my, and other moderators intentions.
You guys, as a whole "community" are what really keeps things going.
I usaully execute what has been shown to me-
So the credit is all ours, as a community- and the stornger we are as a community, the more communication- the more fun we all cna have in sharing our hobby.

So here is to more trading!

I just want to extend a personal thanks to Savage for all that she’s done to keep this board going and to keep everyone level headed. No matter how heated some posts get and regardless of who’s right or wrong, Savage somehow manages to post the voice of reason and fairness to all parties involved. She listens to everyone and goes out of her way to keep the peace and to help everyone work out their differences. I can’t even fathom how much time and care she puts into this board and her other endeavors. Savage, your dedication shows. I can’t speak for everyone, but as for myself, I find it refreshing. Oh, and did I mention that she’s also an awesome trader? Thanks! :)

That really touched me.


I get many many emails a day. Reported complaints, people asking me to settle an arguement.
Requests to mediate, or accept media for untrustworthy traders.

I get complaints on things people post- and accusations of being involved with them, when people disagree on the outcome.
When a thread is deleted I get yelled at by someone who had one more thing to say, when a thread isn't closed, I get yelled at by someone who somethign was said to, feleing it was unfair.

Very rarely does someone speak up in a pleasant way for me.
It is tiring.
It is hard to do sometimes, it is my free time that I offer.
My extra money when I take things in to mediate.
And my reputation sometimes I risk to help out.

Thank you for being aprpeciative. Even one persons voice saying something that nice, is loud enough to overcome the terrible things that sometimes get said.

I try very hard to be a good trader, and a good moderator.
But most of all a good listener. And sometimes it isn't very fair on my end..

I'll second the emotion that Savage does an awesome job on all the sites
that she volunteers time at. She is a definite credit to the trading community.

Also I get really good trades from her too :-)

I too find Savage to be a great and understanding individual.. Many times when it really looks bad and the combatents have to be pulled apart, it's Savage who steps up to the plate. Without her this place would be complete chaos.

I for one appreciate all the work Savage does both in front and behind the scenes.

i still dont understand this

i have asked savage on more than a couple of occasions, exactly why she does it

why she takes the abuse, thats 99% unwarranted

why when a scammer gets exposed and tossed, does she take the personal threats and guff from them

you may say, the same reason a politivcal person does, but no they steal and get $$$

savage does it for free and at the expense of her spare time between her real jobs, what little spare time there is

no matter what she does, theres a bunch of flack over it

look at the banning recently of ________--i cant mention any name----

she got nothing but guff over it

on her best day, shes atill in a no win situation


this board has its crap days, but over all most of the scammers are gone, and no blood has been spilled over other spats

its a safe place to trade, far better than any of the other boards i read

and when my name was brought to her by someone with a bs story, she asked the right questions-- the tough questions, and got the story correct

and i am glad to know that she asks those, when theres an issue no matter whos involved in the story

I've expressed my appreciation privately, but I'll chime in here with a public brava! for Savage. No board is perfect, but this one has been a lot more fun in recent months thanks to her efforts.

A very good moderator in my opinion. Fast and friendly emails and willing to help ALL traders on the board, newbies or no. I'm sure it's a thankless job, but she is courteous and very professional. We're lucky to have her imho.;)

and she is always right on the $

In the last few months I have gotten to know Savage quite well and have come to certain conclusions. In all cases, no matter who the combatents Savage does what she thinks is the fair thing. It surely ain't easy, you have folks from different age groups, different ethnic backgrounds, different parts of the countries, and all with views on how things should be done. Each squabble, each riff really gets to her, as she really cares in making this board as good as it is. I know that I must be a major part of her internal grief. She has spent countless hours handling pm's, private emails in trying to make harmony, sometimes to no avail. It's not because of not trying but because some of us are just plain stubborn.

I hope, in the future to try to be less of a pain and then maybe, maybe she will come to Brooklyn and share a frank at Nathan's with me, and then maybe share a _____ with me. Could I be banned for hopes and prayers?

there are so many egos here, and so many scammers and bad traders galore

and she has her hands full with work, trading and a real life---- and sometimes we accidentally add to that stress

case in point, my comments on the thread last night about the word "Ass"---- now i believed that a previous thread was removed for that word alone, and i mentioned it----turns out i was wrong, and i later posted that i was wrong and that the mods had more info that i didnt have----BUTTTTT by that point, the ball started rolling and others jumped in and we had a 3 hour discussion about the word ASS

i didnt mean it, but i caused savage a ton of stress--- and i am honestly sorry

also the BAD TRADERS LIST--- YES i do think that ANYONE AT ALL who goes on the bad traders list should be CANNED at the same time, BUT i also understand that savage is not the final call on that one, and she has done a HECKUVA Bang up job in cleaning out the trash around here

so for the record, old lamont was wrong, and he admits it

and he openly apologized to savageamusement for all the hair she pulled out over this one

Savageamusement...As always, Lady Kim is the best. Fast, great quality, and the absolute nicest person in the game. Everyone needs to trade with her at least once.

It has been said by many but probably not often enough. Savage you do an incredible job here on this site and often it goes unacknowledged and/or unnoticed.

Through mediating squablles, to advice and even taking crap when it is not deserved. This site would not be what it is without SavageAmusement. No disrepect to any of the other mod's but Savege is definately the most frontline player and I think she goes above and beyond what a moderator should do.

Those people who are on the borderline of getting on the bad trader list should thanks thier lucky stars that Savage is around as she goes out of her way to help. To the point of taking the trades herself and then spending her own time and postage money to mail the items to the respective (I use this term loosely) parties. This is not the job of a moderator this is an incredibly nice person going out of her way to help.

I know not many people here disagree with these sentiments I just wanted to maybe remind those users who do not notice what effort goes into keeping this place the way it is.

Savage, thanks for all your work in keeping this site the best one on the net.

we often forget that this board exists for only 2 reasons

1. TJ pays the bills and foots the costs, and
2. Savageamusement is willing to moderate this madhouse of looney tunes

so i thought, while its nice and calm, it would be a good time to offer a simple thank you for it all

the last month, we have seen more than our fair share of drama over here

with the andy turpas coming back to rip us off, and "LAMONT'S ANGELS" who refuse to go away gracefully, with the bickering over trivial stuff and all the craziness
a lesser moderator would have washed her hands at us all,

Yes, without a doubt Savage is the best. It's not easy keeping peace and harmony when those two words are not utmost in everyone's mind. With different personalities, different ideas and opinionated folks a keynote of this section, it just isn't easy steering a tight ship. In that regard there is no better. I honestly believe there isn't one moderator in TJ's stable of mod's who can approach the work ethic and the expertise as shown by our Savage. Plus, she is the only one I would like to run away with. The biggest compliment a moderator can have is support from their own community. Because that means even though I have to edit, or remove, close threads or sometimes speak a bit...harshly.
You know deep down the intentions that are there.
And sometimes that is the hardest thing to portray.
But I try as hard as I do, to show my intentions- as a moderator-
Because I see yours, as traders and the community.

I wouldn't be here, if it wasn't for you guys after all.

As a long time trader, almost a decade now- the fact is my name is pretty well known.
I have helped out in a few sites and moderate here- as well as my own.
And the more involved you are, and the more notorious you are- the fact is people can, become intimidated to complain to that person. Or even about them.
The one oath I swear to on any site I help with or run, is that I will never want to be treated different due to the involvement I have -
Nor, do I wish to ever treat someone less, because they don't.

And I do this to remind people of that.

As a trader, I am held ot the same expectations.
Should anyone ever trade with me and have a complaint, a problem-
Tell me.
Should you feel my quality, or length of time is unusual or bad.
Tell me.
Should you feel that I am acting as if I do not need to uphold to the same quality, standards or effort
Tell another moderator, or the owner.

I am happy to help out- and I am happy to be involved
But I am not better than anyone else, and you all have the right to same expectations of me, if not higher- don't ever short yourself
You will not be in trouble, judged or even resented for doing so.


As a Moderator, my main goal and purpose is to bring more safety to the board.
To volounteer private time to run trader checks, update lists- to forewarn the community.
To bring information to the group that is useful, clean up the clutter-
At times cool off some arguements
And if I can, mediate situations- wether it be by taking items in and holding them to send out
Or to edit/remove threads to protect users, their privacy or their feelings as well
It is my goal to update threads, and give up to date information on scammers, bad traders, and to bring forth suspicious behavior
And at times, bring forth others concerns when they feel uneasy to confront users themselves-
And as well, to bring the board together as a community if possible

My personal goal aside from that is to add some fun, creative indulgance, some humor and friendliness so that instead of just trading discs, we are sharing, our items as well as our hobby.


These are my goals, and these are the expecations that are expected of me-
And at times, I get frustrated, I make mistakes, I get overwhelmed and I get stressed- But I do this willingly, and I would like to think I make a difference and accomplish these goals-
but the fact is, many of you do trader checks- and Many times I do checks on users, bad traders, past users- but very few do a check on me.

So I would like to somewhat stick my neck out now-
and offer this as an opportunity and reminder, to know your opinions matter-
and I wouldn't be moderating if it wasnt' for this community each and every one of you contributes to.

And as well, to bring the board together as a community if possible

My personal goal aside from that is to add some fun, creative indulgance, some humor and friendliness so that instead of just trading discs, we are sharing, our items as well as our hobby.

I think you moderate very fairly and tell the truth regardless of personal relationships. I know when i have crossed the line I have been brought up on it and I appreciate your truthfulness and fairness.

I think if anything you do too much to help mediate disputes, spending your own time and money ensuring trades are made complete. I believe you go above and beyond what a moderator is expected to do.

I appreciate all the work on the trader and scammer updates this is definately the best trading forum I have been or am a part of.

So well put. I agree. I have had PM's with Savage as well and let me tell you, you are the prime example of what it is to be a moderator. I thank you for your input, advice and wonderful demeanor.

i will say this

there are some moderators (on all sites) who play favorites
or who look the other way for friends

some will bend over backwards to make excuses for one person, and then slam the next guy

i can say that savage is fair and honest

ive had my butt chewed out before and been in the doghouse as well as the next guy

but thats how it should be

As a long time trader, almost a decade now- the fact is my name is pretty well known.
I have helped out in a few sites and moderate here- as well as my own.
And the more involved you are, and the more notorious you are- the fact is people can, become intimidated to complain to that person. Or even about them.
The one oath I swear to on any site I help with or run, is that I will never want to be treated different due to the involvement I have -

AGREED! She is the best! We have had some minor contact prior to this year, but I've been trading with her and find her the cream of the crop!

I have never traded with Savage. Not because I don't want to, just that the occasion has never arose. But if something came up, I would not hesitate for one moment to trade with her.

As for moderating, IMO, Kim is one of the all time best I've ever had the pleasure to know. She truly takes this job to heart & wants to make trading safe & fun for everyone.

Is that supposed to mean that she should not be concerned if she is getting reports of people getting scammed? That's one of the reasons she is here. The board is safer because people exchange information and Kim reports when there is something to be concerned about.

i have learned that people who DONT frequent the trading post as much
expect moderators to put up with more

for instance--- other areas of this board--- the rules are sometimes not as strict

NOW DONT GET ME WRONG, i aint saying they should or shouldnt be, and i know some moderators are more flexble and give more leeway


BUT if someone on the chit chat board, or the All In The Family board is a problem, its usually just name calling, or general nastiness, or spam or inappropriate talk or such

BUT on the trading post--- it can involve someone getting ripped off for 100 discs, or thiefs, or even the loss of $$$$$, so YES the moderator SHOULD be stricter here and should come down harder on people

i belong to other trading sites too, and the scammers run rampamt without someone to crack the whip!!!!

I can honestly say that Kim easily has the toughest board to moderate here and that in every situation I have seen she does an excellent job.

If it seems like she is more serious or too strict here at times, its because there is much more at stake for the people involved on this board.

If I could pick the person to be my boss at work, it would be Kim. I've had the good pleasure to trade and communicate with her lots of times.

She acts not only as moderator, but to many she provides counselling and information on serious issues.

In my opinion, she rules with an iron fist, but wears a fluffy glove. In other words shes there for any genuine trader who needs her help, but don't try and take advantage of her, or her board, coz she aint no push over.

I just completed my first (and hopefully first of many) trades with Kim. I am beyond happy with our trade. She stayed in constant contact, did everything she could to make sure I was happy, and provided great sets. I would recommend Kim anytime. She is truely one of the best.

I have finished my second trade with Kim. I still say the same thing-one of the best. I had no problems, and she is excellent to trade with.

I posted this in another thread, but I think it deserves one of its own for the people that will not be reading the other thread.
There has recently been a situation with a trader many thought to be a scammer. Savage has stepped in to help save the trader's name, and to help other traders get what they are owed.
I think we should all take a moment to commend and say thank you to savage. She is going out of her way to help the community. She is trying to save a trader's name and reputation, and also help the people that have traded and/or bought from him. She has gone out of her way to help with this situation. She has contacted the traders, videotradeblog, and taken the time to talk with them. She has taken the time to get the information from each trader what they are owed. She has taken the time to contact videotradeblog offering to help him, accept packages, check them, and send them on. This is taking her time, effort, and generosity. She is getting noting out of it, but the satisfaction of knowing she helped to save a trader's name, and help other traders to receive what they owed.
She does so much for this community, and she rarely receives the credit she is due. She does so much for each of us that most are unaware of. She gives so much time and energy behind the scenes to make sure we have a wonderful hobby of trading to enjoy. We should all take a moment and say thank you to this generous and wonderful friend of ours.
Thank you savage for all the help and kindness you give to the community.
