I am not sure what help they will now supply but I know it has to be more than they were.
We had a total in our county of 87 houses that collapsed and 17 fatalities.
The damage here, now that I am waist deep in contractors is 41,900.00 to rebuild, repair and salvage. Not counting personal property.
So for everyone who told me to hang on and be patient, you were right-
Just wanted to update everyone, since so many have asked me how things are going.

giltdunn 10-09-2006, 02:44 PM I hope you get the support you deserve - same for all your neighbours. Our own government is just as remiss over here when it comes to giving support where and when it is most needed. It was undoubtedly a terrible experience, I hope it gets easier from here on in, Kim.
Glad you're finally getting some help.
Although I'd beware of taking anything oversaw by G W Bush at face value pinoc:

Actually, the president can only recommend the amount of aid. Congress gets the final word.

Good for you! And good for President Bush to show that he does care and want to help out and get these bleeding heart libs who do do nothing but bash and blame him to shut the hell up. Have a nice day everyone.

Yeah, I know that Dubya dosn't make the final decision. That'd be like putting the kids in charge of the family finances :)
Like most political leaders, he's just a puppet who's havin' his strings pulled by the ones we don't see.

How hilarious is it to always see someone from another country who seems to think he knows how things are done over here. When you guys can get by without us backing you up, then come and talk to me.:happyface

Care!! Yeah he really showed his compassion with Katrina.....a week later.
And he really had his priorities sorted out when he was working on his golf swing, while brave American and British Soldiers were loosing their lives in the name of him, Blair, Haliburton, etc...
Don't get me wrong, I hate Sadam and Bin Laden as much as anyone else does, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to turn a blind eye to the behaviour of our leaders. Everyone has there own view, and are perfectly entitled to it. Mine is just that Bush and Blair (and many others) will always put their own interests before those of the people they are charged with protecting.
"Thank you. Now watch this shot."

Your showing your ignorance right there with the Katrina statement. It falls on the state and local governments first before the federal gets involved. And thise DEMOCRATS failed misserably!! Gov. Blanco was warned way ahead of time to start evacuating. Mayor Nagin let school buses just sit around instead of helping to evacuate. It's not like everyone didn't see it coming in the gulf 4 to 5 days ahead of time. Next thing you'll tell me is that Bush has some magic weather machine that he made the hurricane go into N.O. on purpose.

Boy how right you are. Bush is sending troops over there for no other reason that to get him a big profit from all of the oil over there. He's the only President to actually confront terroism head on. Unlike the last administration who was too worried about his legacy that protecting people from terrorism. Keep trying and maybe you'll come up with something credible.
savageamusement 10-09-2006, 07:30 PM No no no no no.
Your not taking an innocent thread to update about my flood into a political compaign. We have a political section, feel free to argue this there.
I know how heated politics can get.
Thanks for the words of support, it was a mere notice to let those who were curious, know an update.
No need to turn this into a voting/presidential/political arguement.
This isn't the place for such an arguement.
