in an effort to make the feedback area a lot easier to use

i suggest that all posts about a certain user, be stacked under one heading

example

if STINKY773 has 14 different folks say hes the greatest

make it so that all of stinkys feedback is on one thread, and from that day on, instruct everyone, to add to the collective, instead of haveing numerous seperate posts

thus one thread per user, rather than numerous

seperate posts make it very hard to look back and find info about possible traders

it would make the area much easier to use, and thats what its for, to allow folks to look someone up and see how they are doing

Then Lamont would be ranked #1 and your ego wouldn't be able to take that.

beleive it or not
some people HATE good old Lamont too

DON'T know if that idea would work or not

b/c people would stop posting feedback for known users

i mean, would i want to add on to page 5 of Savage feedback to post about her again? or would i want to post on page 4 of Lilhave good feedback? most likely not as people would view it as pointless

I have found that most of the time, people really only check out the BAD feedback anyhow

view the feedback sections, the "Good trade with..." have 5 or 10 views

the BAD TRADER REPORTS have 100s

just lamont, rambling

the day i stoop to kissing butts for my personal ratings, will never happen

no one here has ever gotten a message from me begging for feedback

im quite the opposite

and if old brother lamont wants to make 50 useless trades for 100% junk, by his own admission,

well then thats just the way he can have it

ill pass

my time is far too valuable to be chasing some junk

just to get soemone to say, i made a trade with _____ and he took total crap from me, what a great guy ____ is

and old buddy joker, while you were gone on your latest, banning adventure, there was a poll on this very site, and old loren did pretty well, with two catagory wins and the only non moderator to get rated as a superior trader

and remember old buddy joker, this sint like ioffer, where certain big name sellers have fake feedback, and not many people are smart enough to understand it, sound like anyone i know????

and any time i save can be used to argue with my old pal, the joker

remember chris, i love you

and thanks for looking out for the me, old pal

I always thought it was silly to keep saying-"I HAD ANOTHER GREAT TRADE WITH" I really don;t see the point of someone I already had a good trade with Reposting that we had another good trade like I'm on some sort of 90 trading probation-lol

the point of it, tvresearcher is to keep it updated

why? u might ask

well, some traders START OFF with a bunch of good feedback (u can check the old pages to see that YES INDEED even pople like wolf11, collinwood2003 or sheri220 ALL had good feedbacks) and then go downhill

IF you see someone who had 25 good comments 2 years ago, does that tell what type of trader they are now???

NOPE! some good traders go bad, and some bad traders get better as they become more experienced

i dont leave feedback all the time, but i try to update it when i think of it:wave:

I guess, but 98% of the time, if I have a good trade with someone it's usually going to be the start of a long trading relationship. I don;t think I ever had a good trade with someone and then we all of a sudden had a bad trade

Lamont

well that might be true tvresearcher

but at the same time you do a lot less trading than some of us

some traders here swap like 500 discs a month sometimes

and deal with more people

for every good trader out there

there are 3 or 4 bad ones lurking, waiting and scheming

i don't see how this could be a bad idea. i actually think i would be more inclined to leave feedback if it were that way. i try to do it after every trade but sometimes forget and just post everyone that i have forgotten all at once.

yes sir

isnt feedback for people who arent familiar with you

thsi way they can look at a persons thread--since everyone would ahve their own

and see what ever comments there are

the ststem now would atke all day

maybe thats teh reason not many people look at it the way it is

its unsearchable, and one needs to read through numerous pages of stuff

and then can still miss it totaly, since some feedback is for 8 different people , all on the same thread

no wonder people get suckered into trades, since they cant use this valuable feedback resource

you see not everyone is lucky enough like me and lamont and a few others, to actualy know almost everyone that frequents here, or be able to email soemoen who des for an update

it surely isnt for my benifit

i have my own --lists-- to refer to when theres a trader question

its mainly to help out the leser known, or newbies

I'm not sure if it's possible or if it's something the site admin views as worthwhile, but how about feedback section as part of our profiles? You could click on someone's profile and view any feedback left by other members.

the only problem with having a rating next to your name

is that it is usually NOT reflective of ones trading record, BUT usually becomes a popularity contest

you know JOE TRADER emails all his buddies throughout the boards

from M*A*S*H board or chit chat or THE NANNY and all his buds leave him good scores so he appears to be a great trader
and the reverse is that someone like TRADE L might get 100 emails from people asking to trade and if he says NO some people get ticked off and leave a bad mark against him b/c of it

the way it is now, although flawed, at least it is easier to manage

i mean, if TRADE E leaves a bad comment about TRADE 77 and the mod sees it and looks at the post and sees that it is a B.S. post or without merit
they can remove it right then:wave:

I'm not suggesting a rating beside the names. I'm basically suggesting each trader have their own feedback thread that can be reached through their profile.

Not everyone at the board trades, maybe only ten perecent. I think Lorens idea is good, just have Feed back threads with out user names in alphabetical order. Some of the other stuff sounds way to complicated.

Maybe those that don't trade can fill the space with important information such as their favourite OC cast member.

I agree the feedback section is messy.
Its hard to find a name, even with the search feature.

My question is this.

OKay, lets say there are 100 main traders.
And for the most part that is an accurate number-
So am I understanding this

You want ONE thread, with lets say each persons name in red, bold.
And all their comments below it.

And then you can scroll through ONE page.

Or are you saying you want a thread PER person for all their comments.

If so, lets say xio xio the trader would be page, uhm, 99
so people would have to scroll to page 99.

I am all for a neater way to do it- but am comfounded on how to do it without a different type of frustration.

Another idea, I could tackle and ask the big boss is- and this would be time consuming, but-

Having a list of all the traders in red bold.
and each time a trade is done, leave points.
Such as 1-5 discs 1 ppoint, 6-10 2 points, etc.
and therefore add them up, so people could see by the level of points their "score"
but 2 problems with that, you dont see why they got the point.
and for people who do a lot of litlte trades- they would climb very slowly.

hmmm.

This is similar to what I'm suggesting only instead of having them listed which, as SA says would be up to 100 names long, have the threads accessed through a person's profile. Each person would have a feedback thread, but a link in their profile would bring you directly to it.

If they are all stickied in alphabetical order there would be only 2 pages with 50 on each one. Page 1 could be A-L and Page 2 could be M-Z. You could have a direct link in your signature if you wanted it.
