Just curious what people thought of it so far. I do admit my main reason for watching is Lizzy Caplan (Kat) and Jason Ritter (Ethan).

I do admit my main reason for watching is Lizzy Caplan (Kat) and Jason Ritter (Ethan). I saw the first episode... thought it was pretty good. Too bad cbs doesn't put it up on http://www.cbs.com/innertube/ then I could watch it more often. Oh well. Scoobiedoo30 11-07-2006, 12:05 PM I watched This Show every Monday and when I cant watch it I tape it and watch it at 12:35 am Storywriter 11-12-2006, 10:46 PM I watch it I like it. Storywriter 11-16-2006, 07:59 PM Actually CBS is in talks to buy more episodes.I heard that too about CBS. I am glad Ia m not the only one who has heard that.:) TJL 11-16-2006, 08:21 PM I wasn't too impressed with the pilot episode, but i have been watching every week, and I must say "The Class" has grown on me. I'm not crazy about all of the characters, but there are some talented people in the ensemble. I like how the characters paired off into thier own storylines, but they still intersect with the others in thier storylines. Very clever. Also, for a sitcom, it has a lot of great cliffhangers in each episode. Scoobiedoo30 11-17-2006, 11:26 AM I really do enjot this program I am just sorry that I missed this passed Monday, November 13, 2006 airing of The Class because of Technaical Difficuties Roryta 12-09-2006, 06:51 AM I am sooooo enjoying this show,, it's quite funny, and I actually find it worth the watch! I don't want it to be canceled! with all the dramas I do watch, i find the class an amusing break from all of that :) Scoobiedoo30 12-15-2006, 12:45 PM I nervery miss an episode of The Class TMC 07-31-2025, 02:08 AM Short-Lived Sitcom Potpourri (XXVII) – Late ’00s CBS Monday Flops (https://jacksonupperco.com/2025/07/30/short-lived-sitcom-potpourri-xxvii-late-00s-cbs-monday-flops/) Thoughts: The Class (https://web.archive.org/web/20140407133828/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3145786-the-class/?view=getnewpost) is a show that’s better on paper than screen. It’s a polished multi-cam co-created by a former Friends EP, boasting a cast of basically well-delineated characters inside a cute, mostly original premise about reconnected relationships among the now-adult members of a third-grade class. (I said “mostly” because of In Case Of Emergency (https://jacksonupperco.com/2024/10/09/short-lived-sitcom-potpourri-xxiii/).) The problem is that this cool premise actually proves unworkable in practice, for by starting with eight adults leading largely separate lives, the show toils to get all its leads together after the pilot, which means it’s rare for the main elements of the series’ situation to be working fully and in tandem. This limits the narrative possibilities, making everything feel segmented and constrained. Indeed, the cast is typically paired inside templated subplots — with four couples emerging, three of which are obviously romantic (or poised to be) — and there’s minimal crossover aside from the link between two sisters. |
