If you think about it, there are nicknames that are shorterened versions of names many people don't even realize............. Here are some.................
Bill and Billy are short for William.................I thought Will and Willie were the only nicknames for William.
Sandy(for a boy) is short for Alexander. If you think a little about it, you will see that the "Xander" part of Alexander sounds like, 'Zander", and the "Z" sounds kind of like an "S", so if you remove the "r" it sounds like, 'Zandy", which sounds like, 'Sandy".............................Many people think that Sandy(for a boy) is the male version of Sandra..................................
Andy is a nickname for Alexander too. The "Ander" in Alexander sounds almost like, 'Andy"...................... Most people think the only nickname for Alexander are Alex, Lex or Al.
Cole can be a nickname for Michael, because the "Chael" in Michael sounds like the way you say, 'Cole".
Beth is a nickname for Elizabeth. Even though it is is right there in the second part of Elizabeth, many people only look at the first half of names, so they usually only make nicknames like Eliza, Liz, Lisa, Liza, or Lizzie, and completely ignore the other part of it. I found this out when this girl named Beth said that her full name was Elizabeth............................
