Tori Spelling, who has a strained relationship with her mom Candy Spelling, will give motherhood a shot herself.
The former "Beverly Hills 90210" star and her husband, actor Dean McDermoot, are expecting a child sometime next year, reports People. The actress is about 14 weeks along.
In September, comedian Kathy Griffin mentioned the happy news at a stand-up show in Alabama: "Tori Spelling's pregnant by the way. It's not public yet, but I'm putting it out there." At the time, it was not clear whether or not Griffin was joking in her usual fashion.

Spelling, 33, and McDermott, 39, met on the Ottawa set of the TV movie "Mind Over Murder" in 2005. Both were married to other people at the time -- Spelling to actor-writer Charlie Shanian, and McDermott to Canadian TV personality Mary Jo Eustace. Divorces soon followed, and the new couple married in Fiji in May.
The baby will be Spelling's first child. McDermott has a son with Eustace, with whom he also adopted a daughter right before meeting Spelling. He is no longer the girl's legally adoptive father.
Spelling is best known as the virginal Donna Martin on "Beverly Hills, 90210," which was produced by her father, the late Aaron Spelling. Her other credits include various TV movies, the short-lived sitcom "The Help," "The House of Yes," "Trick," "Scary Movie 2" and the prophetically named "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover." She most recently starred as a fictionalized version of herself on VH1's "so noTORIous."
