View Full Version : Lionel and Jenny not wanting to tell his parents abt her pregnancy...
Ireneparalegal 10-04-2006, 11:45 AM Ok, this episode pisses me off. Not so much the episode, but the way the characters didn't handle this situation very well. I think no matter what, at some point the kids were going to have to tell Lionel's parents abt the pregnancy...knowing that George was going to make crass comments, Lionel should have spoken with his father BEFORE Jenny ever became pregnant. He should have told George that down the road should Jenny ever become pregnant, Lionel will not stand for any stupid zebra remarks, etc. especially since the health of his wife and child would be an issue. It should have been made clear that Jenny is his wife and should be respected as such. I felt bad for Louise for she was the one who was really hurt by not being told. I think NO ONE should have been told until all the parents could be told.

Jenny and George on the rooftop was the episode when they waited to tell Lionel's parents because of George. That was not handled right and was poorly done. Being grandparents for the first time is a happy occasion and to have someone like Lionel kill the joy of it was bad. The redeeming thing of the episode was Jenny and George on the rooftop to finally talk things out and about their relationship. I was moved to tears on that and to see George look at Jenny beyond his son's wife but as a daughter. That episode was the beginning of the softening of George Jefferson because his comments towards the Willis' did not have that same bite as it did in the previous seasons.

Well I'm still confused unless you mean you saw it during the Jeffersons marathon because just started showing season 6 this week. Last week was season 5. Irene I'm just making sure because I trying to stay on pace with each episode after the 5th season so my Jeffersons project can be accurate-lol

Well, it was obvious when I stated that I seen it last week that it wasn't last night that I had seen it. Besides, what do you think abt the kids not wanting to tell George and Louise they were going to have a baby?

I thought it was Wrong, he had every right to be upset

I agree with you, If I was Louise I would have been really upset. Your son is going to have his first child and they want to wait and tell me. At first I was upset because I thought Jenny was behind this, but then I found out it was Lionel, I can understand his reasoning but there is a better way of handling things.
