Haven't found a review of it anywhere, but I just hope there's no crazy edits. I may buy it for the bloopers? vashti1999 01-02-2007, 10:53 PM Raise your hand if you found the Martin dvd at a store on Tuesday. I went to two Circuit Citys, a Best Buy and a Target and NOBODY had it. Unfortunately I waited until after work instead of checking things out during lunch. I'm just pissed right now that I came back empty handed. I'll be trying some other stores tomorrow, during lunch. BEST BUY DIDN"T HAVE IT???????????????????????????????????????? I'm very surprised to hear that vashti1999 01-02-2007, 11:18 PM BEST BUY DIDN"T HAVE IT???????????????????????????????????????? I'm very surprised to hear that I didn't try the Best Buys in Manhattan though, most likely it would be there, but I tried a Best Buy in a Queens shopping mall, and they didn't have it. I'll be trying the Manhattan stores tomorrow. vashti1999 01-03-2007, 12:59 PM Weird, I just checked BestBuy.com and it's listed as unavailable at every BB store in new York City. Dr. Jazz 01-03-2007, 01:11 PM I went to two Best Buy's and a Circuit City and no one had it, so I went into Wal-Mart later on to pick up a couple things and they had it! lol vashti1999 01-03-2007, 01:49 PM I went to two Best Buy's and a Circuit City and no one had it, so I went into Wal-Mart later on to pick up a couple things and they had it! lol You're lucky, I just tried an FYE a couple blocks from work and they were sold out too. I was beginning to think there was only one copy that existed (the one used for the SO review) but now that you have it, I know that there's at least two that exist. TVFactFan 01-03-2007, 02:30 PM Even Though Martin wouldn't be a show I would need to buy the day it comes out, I'm still surprised it was in Best Buy. I have never walked out of Best Buy wth a Frown on my Face. vashti1999 01-03-2007, 02:39 PM Martin wouldn't be a show I would need to buy the day it comes out It seems like there's alot of people who wanted to buy it the first day it came out. Either that or these stores didn't order that many copies. I seriously think their employees used their employees discounts to get it and the stores ran out of copies for the customers. Tha Kid eX 01-03-2007, 09:13 PM got my copy from amazon.com today, im alil upset because the first episode on disc one has hesitation through the whole episode, makes it look like stop animation and the audio doesnt match theyre lip movements Jack Gomez 01-03-2007, 10:02 PM I tried Target, but they were sold out. Then I went over to Best Buy and found it. Maybe this is a good sign, since it looks like there is a demand for the series. Hopefully, they'll get the other four seasons out quickly. I know some series like Laverine & Shirley only have the first season out and that's it which is pretty surprising. The blooper reel is hysterical, although about three of the clips weren't even bloopers just scenes from random episodes. I don't want to complain too much about that because it wasn't that noticeable and the actual bloopers are very funny. :D Scoobiedoo30 01-03-2007, 11:43 PM I would try Best Buy vashti1999 01-04-2007, 10:31 AM My Martin dvd ordeal: Tuesday 1.Circuit City (Manhattan) - NO 2.Circuit City (Queens) - NO 3.Best Buy - NO 4.Target - NO Wednesday 5.FYE - NO 6.J&R Music World - NO 7.Borders - NO 8.Virgin Megastore - YES It got to the point where I was on a mission to get it. I wanted it to a certain extent, but it ended up becoming a personal challenge to find a store that had it. I was told by someone at my job that it comes out on the 9th because it's on back order TVJunkie101 01-04-2007, 01:43 PM I lucked out. I got my copy for free (only because I reviewed it for SO). Tha Kid eX 01-05-2007, 05:40 AM got my copy from amazon.com ..got here on the 3rd, i rarely try to find items in stores as most are out of stock fast or most stores dont carry all the shows that come out on dvd TVFactFan 01-05-2007, 11:37 AM I won't be buying season 1 because the Martin character was TOO NERDY in season 1. That changed in season 2 and after Dr. Jazz 01-07-2007, 07:17 PM My Martin dvd ordeal: Tuesday 1.Circuit City (Manhattan) - NO 2.Circuit City (Queens) - NO 3.Best Buy - NO 4.Target - NO Wednesday 5.FYE - NO 6.J&R Music World - NO 7.Borders - NO 8.Virgin Megastore - YES It got to the point where I was on a mission to get it. I was gonna suggest Virgin Megastore (they have everything lol) but figured you had already looked there. I thought of you yesterday Vash - I went into another Best Buy and they had about 20 copies of Martin in the new releases section lol vashti1999 01-07-2007, 08:14 PM I'm glad you finally found it. I was gonna suggest Virgin Megastore (they have everything lol) but figured you had already looked there. I thought of you yesterday Vash - I went into another Best Buy and they had about 20 copies of Martin in the new releases section lol If I were smart, Virgin would've been the 2nd store I tried (just down the block from the first Circuit City I went to) and I would've had it. CC had a sale on seasons of The Shield that I wanted to get so that's why I focused on CC first. They didn't have The Shield either, so I was extra pissed about them not having Martin either. gidgetgrape 01-07-2007, 11:57 PM My Target was sold out too. felicitylen 01-10-2007, 04:42 PM Best Buy had only 4 copies. I was just in luck to have bought one. vashti1999 01-10-2007, 04:51 PM Even though I had it already, I checked out a best Buy this past Monday to see if they had any copies and they didn't. mraw 01-12-2007, 12:07 AM My Martin dvd ordeal: Tuesday 1.Circuit City (Manhattan) - NO 2.Circuit City (Queens) - NO 3.Best Buy - NO 4.Target - NO Wednesday 5.FYE - NO 6.J&R Music World - NO 7.Borders - NO 8.Virgin Megastore - YES It got to the point where I was on a mission to get it. I wanted it to a certain extent, but it ended up becoming a personal challenge to find a store that had it. I've always had this problem with The Jeffersons and Good Times releases. I started pre-ordering from websites in August and I'm going to stick with that. I got tired of driving all over town wasting my gas looking for a dvd set. In the case of Martin, I wish I could believe that the shelves were stocked fully and sold out, but I think that retailers severely underestimated the selling power of this title, and they stocked a minimal amount of the set. But it still should look good for a season 2 release. I'm having issues with a disc (I can't remember right off) skipping and freezing. I remember specifically that the Halloween episode skips. I've had issues with about 4 episodes in all. As soon as the season six release of The Jeffersons is announced, I am going over to tvshowsondvd.com to pre-order it along with The Addams Family Volume 2 and the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour (I finally want to pre-order from one of the sites I visit to support them). Can you pre-order through sitcomsonline.com? vashti1999 01-16-2007, 12:24 PM Can you pre-order through sitcomsonline.com? Most likely, if you see a dvd link to amazon at the top of the page of the show you want to pre-order. As for Martin, now that I've watched the whole first season, the show didn't really get started until around the Christmas episode. With that episode and the ones after that it felt more like the Martinseries I remember. In the earlier shows it was still trying to find its way, but it got much better in the 2nd half of the season. |
