Music Superstar Mariah Carey co-stars with Brett Butler, Eva Longoria, Jenny McCarthy and Eva La Rue in "Hot Tamales"...
Hot Tamales is the story of four sexy single ladies all sharing a mansion in Miami, Florida and bonding over love, life and most of all men...
Mariah Carey stars as Trina Mann who is 34 years old and currently lives in the mansion she inherited when her mutli-milloneer father died of a heart attack at the age of 65. She currently works as a waitress at "Hot Tamales", formerly one of the hottest clubs in Miami, which now is as dead as anything thanks to a trendy new bar that opened up right next door called "Bottoms Up"... He aspiration is to buy the club and help restore it into one of the hottest joints in town... She shares her apartment and all her problems with her three best friends.... she has allowed her four best friends, Lorna, Monica, Randi and Stacey live with her.
Lorna (Butler) is a 56 year old lesbian whose partner of 5 years recently left her for a "younger, more curvy" girl... she works at the club with Trina as a waitress and must juggle one awful date after another. all she wants in life is to find happiness and settle down... Her sarcastic wit and dry sense of humor help get her through the day... "The View" co-host Joy Behar appears in a recurring role as Miranda, Lorna's ex partner.
Eva Longoria stars as Monica a "young thirty-something" aspiring model who currently works at the bar as a dancer and hopes to strike it big as a fashion model... so far her only modeling work has been a limited number of embarrissing ads for an medication that treats V.D. She has also been wildly unsuccessful in love... with her last boyfriend having dumped her for another guy!
Then you have Stacey (La Rue), the most analytical of the group, Stacey is the only member of the group to have gone to college, she went to community college for one semester and then dropped out for her current job running one of Miami's premire dating agency's and is currently engaged to Markus, a wildly successful doctor; but she doesn't realize that he is a notorious cheater...
and lastly is Randi, played by Jenny McCarthy, the youngest and most immature of the group. Randi is a waitress at the club that Trina works at and also lives in the mansion with the girls... Randi is wildly impulsive and tends to sleep with one guy after another, almost never realizing the consequences... Currently she is involved with a married man, the repercussions of which are going to be tremendous, as she soons finds herself in a very tough spot. This married man is played to perfection by, Dylan Walsh, of TV's Nip/Tuck....
Together these four girls hope to make it through the day and find the love of their life...
