View Full Version : Why aren't there ANY episodes on TVLand or NickatNite???? Big3sCompanyFan 10-01-2006, 02:54 AM Why are all the other big sitcoms on either TVLand or NickatNite but DIfferen't Strokes is NEVER on?????????? chris jacob 10-04-2006, 04:35 PM Hi diffrent sotrokes was on Nick at nite but they didn not keep it very long for some reason I do not know why Buffyboy323 10-05-2006, 08:06 AM Yeah. It was on N@N in 2000-2001, I believe. Scoobiedoo30 10-05-2006, 02:10 PM If my memory is Correct I Belive Diff'rent Strokes aired at 8:30 pm Central Time and repeated at 4:30 am Central Time on Nick@Nite Smokin' Sods 10-28-2006, 01:35 PM Yep, Nick At Nite had it a few years ago, but the thing that sucked was they REFUSED to air any of the "very special" episodes -- stuff like "The Bicycle Man" and "Bulimia." Fortunately, TV Land had a weekend marathon of the show around the same time, in which they aired these episodes at like 2AM. lol. Everybody went waaay overboard trying to "protect us" from these episodes. Of course, it was OK for these episodes to be on in Prime-time on a major network back in the 80's .... go figure. I have been disgusted with the way they have handled this show, in general, for years now. And what's up with the DVD releases ... they're coming out with ONE like every other year. Nobody can even confirm whether or not Season 3 will make it onto DVD. This is ridiculous. This was one of the most popular sitcoms of its era. Its spin-off, The Facts Of Life, just came out on DVD and has already surpassed Diff'rent Strokes in # of releases. Scoobiedoo30 10-28-2006, 01:42 PM I sure wish TV Land would air Diff'rent Strokes. DSfan 10-28-2006, 04:46 PM I also wish that the dvds would be released already. I bought season 1 and 2 and good to them again but the individual cases in my opinion look like someone who is not a professional who made it in their basement lol. i first heard about ds when it was on nick at nite but didnt like the episode and never turned it back on. luckily i recorded some episodes from tnn and have a few season 3 episodes to watch. i think somebody that recorded the tvland marathon should post the good episodes after copying them onto the computer ThomasE 11-02-2006, 03:35 AM They were airing it at the beginning of the century and then it went over to the sister network, TNN. Good news, though. It is airing on Nick at Nite....the latin america version under the title "blanco y negro" and so is the spinoff "los hechos de la vida". along with "La Familia Munster", "Hechizada" (Bewitched), "Los Locos Adams", "Mi Bella Genio" (I Dream of Jeannie), "Los dos Perfectos Deconocidos" (Perfect Strangers) and "Ay" Como Duele Crecer" (Growing Pains), a program that has yet to make it to Nick at Nite in the states. All the other programs have been aired except for this one. They even air "Mork Del Planeta Ork" and "A.L.F.". They have a better schedule than we do in America IMO. LOL. http://www.mundonick.com/nick_at_nite/ above is the website Smokin' Sods 11-03-2006, 02:45 PM Diff'rent Strokes is a strange phenomenon. It was a hugely popular sitcom for its time. But, sadly, its one of those sitcoms that was unable to withstand the test of time. The ratings were obviously horrible on both TNN and Nick At Nite, that's why both networks bailed on the show so quickly. Also, the DVD sales must be awful too. Look how long it took for them to come out with Season 2 after Season 1. Now, we're waiting even longer for Season 3, which hasn't even been confirmed yet. It may not come out at all, for all we know. What a shame too, because the later episodes are the ones I want to see most! I'm not a big fan of the early "cutesy" episodes of this show (i.e., "The Spanking), but thought the show really started to get good from Seasons 3 on. Maybe they should come out with 2 seasons at a time from this point on: 3&4, 5&6, 7&8. If they keep releasing just one season at a time, it will be year 2030 at the rate they're going. I don't understand how such a once popular sitcom can become so UNpopular over time. Family Ties is another one that runs into the same problems. The show was huge in its day, but every time a network picks it up, they bail on it right away. And that one has yet to see the light of day on DVD. Actually they just announced the first season of Family Ties on DVD due out in early 2007 and I'm definitely getting it! I agree that Differen't Strokes and Family Ties should be more popular on TV Land and Nick at Nite rather than shows like Rosanne! UGH! Scoobiedoo30 11-07-2006, 11:25 AM it sure would be nice if Diff'rent Strokes would come back on The Air |
