Well, I finally got around to watching this episode today.
I just loved it.:D
The writing was sooooooooo good. When I feel down, I'm going to pop this one in because I laughed out loud through most of it.
How could I have forgotten how good this one was?
Roger Director - thank you for such a fantastic episode.

There WAS light at the end of the tunnel - they just didn't follow it.

Who else loves this episode?

This is one of my favourites. Partly because its one of the few I can remember watching in the 80s. There are so many funny scenes, the acting is great and that ending ...

I love this episode and I agree with you about the end of the tunnel. If only they wanted...
The Church scene, Maddie's jealousy, the kiss in the hospital and final Maddie's speach to David obviously . All great, I think.
Now that I listened to Cybill's commentary I find it most terrific!

Guess I'm the voice crying in the wilderness. I never liked this episode at all, not in 1988 and not now. I never found it sweet, moving, funny or any of that.

I think I liked it more at the time, as we were so glad to see anything positive happen!!

The only thing that bugs me in all this - the kiss just doesn't work! It looks unnatural and staged. Is it just me who thinks this??

I think it was meant to be that way because that whole scene was kind of a farce. (Like how easily Walter delivered the baby!) I thought it was fun and brought all the drama to an end in a very madcap "Moonlighting" sort of way. I loved it!

Ah, I never thought of that CyBr, good point!

The kissing wasn't my favorite part - there are a couple of kisses in ML that don't make my toes tingle and this is one of them.

I thought the writing was great in this one. When I can laugh out loud almost twenty years later, then the episode is/was a success IMO.
When David sees Walter for the first time, and he and Agnes and Walter all look to the doorway area to see if anyone else is there, that's funny. The looks on the office staff when they realize that this funny looking, nerdy type of guy is David's adversary, it just makes me laugh.
The looks on David's face when he and Walter are interacting - the range goes from disbelief, to hatred, to superiority etc. How about David's reaction when Walter touches his leg?

Even though Cybill's performance was kind of laid back, you still felt the intense feelings between Maddie and David, and the almost boring comfortableness (is this a word?:D ) between Maddie and Walter.

Just a quick note -- has anyone noticed that during Moonlighting's run, that whenever a male threat was around, that Bruce/David would put his hands in his pockets to 'BARE HIS MANHOOD" as they do in the animal world? As I recall from my psychology classes way back when, it is a male response to a threat to his mate to put his hands in his pockets to show his masculinity. I hope I am phrasing this stuff in a coherent way, by the way. Bruce did this, Glenn or no Glenn, during Moonlighting's 5 seasons. ALPHA MALE!

I cannot help but remember the look on Maddie's face when he told her to get her ass outta there!!!! Whoa...talk about pissed awf.
The kiss left me wanting also :( I could feel the attraction still throughout the episode, but the kiss wasn't up to par for them. Whether or not it was supposed to be somewhat comical, I am unsure. I hope that was the case due to the final product.
I do remember crying though when Maddie's says, "I love you David....and when I saw you by that bed with Terri......" aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwww
"come on where?" too cute

xoxo
