She eventually became manager toward the end of the series you know. Also, did she eventually teach an aerobics class as well?

Just for one episode as part of a story line, then it was never mentioned again. Speaking of being the aerobics instructor, Janet was ready to quit her job in the flower shop. Yeah, I'm sure an aerobics instructor pays great. She reprimanded the other roommates when they wanted to quit THEIR jobs too soon.

I remember that. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

I thought she was manager but whatever. That does seem weird, like, wasn't she supposed to be the feminist of the group of girls? Well, Terri was sort of like a feminist but I'm going off topic again so I will simply shut up.

I never thought of any of them as really feminest. Janet was just bossy to everyone.

I never thought of any of them as really feminest. Me neither. Not when you compare them with the women on shows like Maude, Roseanne, One Day At A Time and Murphy Brown, who were constantly squawking about their equal rights. Janet, Chrissy, Cindy and Terri did not even come close to being feminists.

Not much if she was a cashier-lol
She was not a cashier. She had to know abt plants and flowers and she also did arrangements. I worked as a clerk in a flower store many moons ago and the clerks and the people who actually did the arrangements and knew the flowers and plants were TWO DIFFERENT JOBS that paid VERY DIFFERENTLY. I was only a clerk, I was young. This one lady who did the arrangements, ordered inventory, etc. ended up becoming manager. She was paid very well. So stop confusing Janet's job with a "cashier"...that was not Janet's job.

call it what you want, but it paid way more than a cashier...it still does. She wouldn't be able to live in an apartment in Santa Monica if she was just a cashier.

As much as they struggled I think Chrissy was a File Clerk, Cindy was a file Clerk. and Terri was a Nurse Aide-lol

Terri was a NURSE. Not a nurse's aide. Why are you trying to make their jobs seem less than they actually were? Chrissy stated she was a secretary. A file clerk doesn't type or answer phones.

Because of the TIGHT Money Situation
It was a show, they had to make things seem that way to make way for episode writing. How boring it would be if they had money and no financial situations where they could get into. Besides, we don't know that Terri sent money to her family back home or they were saving $$$ for other reasons. Terri probably had a school loan to pay back (nursing college). Jack later owned a restaurant, we know he needed a loan for that.

Besides, your initial post doesn't talk abt money. it talks abt the kind of work Janet had...

No, I am saying YOUR INITIAL POST didn't talk abt a tight money situation. You only are mentioning it NOW to back up your posts. You were bagging on Janet for supposedly being only a cashier. She is NOT a cashier. Only now, you are talking abt money. You started that, not me.

rofl...and a cashier. Well a glorified cashier, since she was apparently getting paid enough to chip in for rent.
