Season Five -- one of the greatest seasons yet -- of ROSEANNE aired on ABC from 1992-93. The half hour sitcom stars Roseanne Arnold, who won an Emmy for this season, stars as Roseanne Connor, who this season opens up the Lanford Lunch Box. John Goodman plays her temperamental but loving husband Dan, who this season loses his bike shop and goes back into dry-walling. Laurie Metcalf, who also won an Emmy for this season, stars as Jackie Harris, Roseanne's sister, who this season falls for a much younger man and goes into business with Roseanne. Lecy Goranson portrays Becky Connor-Healy, who at the start of the season marries her long-time boyfriend Mark in an act of rebellion. Sara Gilbert stars as Darlene Connor, the middle child, who this season celebrates her sixteenth birthday. And Michael Fishman stars as DJ Connor, the youngest child, who plays off everyone with his sarcastic comments.

Odd question, but did the reviewer even watch the special feature: 'Roseanne answers her fans top ten questions'? She actually answered 8 and the graphics were changed to reflect that.

A little note.. the DVD is not as complete as one may think.
The episode "Of Ice and Men" originally featured the Conners watching the Jackie Thomas Show in the ending... this isnt featured on the DVD...

Is that more likely a legal issue than a syndication cut?

ya could be... tv.com says it only aired once, then it got replaced with bloopers (which are on the dvd).. still would be nice to have :P

Interestingly, the footage with Tom Arnold in 'Lose a Job, Winnebago' is intact.

I guess since that was filmed for Roseanne ... no legal barriers.

I don't understand what on earth The Jackie Thomas show was ... so I could be wrong.

No offence intended, I might be wrong, but I fail to see that the reviewer did watch the DVD well, I just tuned in for one of the video commentaries and after only 1 minute had two strong complaints: it is very hard to hear Roseanne over the actual episode - a bad editting job, and also she doesn't have much to say ... I would have thought any review would have mentioned these, it also seems that the video commentaries run around 14 minutes - they cut the episode to what Roseanne commented on and there is still silence.

Critical much? I'm only human. And yes, I did watch all of the commentaries and the special features. I listed what was said on the BOX and yes, in hindsight I should of changed Top 10 to Top 8, but the fact is, it was what was on the box.

I do the best I can; I'm not perfect and I make mistakes. And again, of course I watch the set. Roseanne is one of my favorite shows. I've watched each and every episode on the set already. To be honest, until I watched the video commentary a second time, it really didn't even hit me the commentaries were only as long as however much Roseanne commented. Sorry about the mistakes, but again ... not perfect...

Don't worry I love your reviews! They're excellent and I love reading them. Off topic but may I ask if you'll be reviewing The Golden Girls: The Complete Sixth Season when it comes out.
