Does anybody remember the series Sydney (1990) starring Valerie Bertinelli? It also had Matthew Perry on it. It must not have had a very long life.

I remember. I didn't think it was too bad and Perry was good.

...I also remember reading, around that period, that Barbara Feldon was asked to play "Sydney's" mother. Wisely, she declined.....this was around the period that CBS was "infatuated" with Valerie (having performed in a number of highly-rated TV movies for them), and insisted on making her a "star performer" in her own series. The only problem was, Valerie couldn't "front" a series of her own- she worked best as a "supporting player", not the "lead".
I remember watching "SYDNEY", and I eventually wondered, "Why?". No offense, 'edoug', but your memories of it are different than mine. The only reason why it would ever be revived today [again, "WHY?"] is because Matthew Perry was a "supporting player". He had a much brighter future awaiting him on TV than Valerie would...or has. There were only 13 episodes of the series...more than enough to make one forget it ever existed.

I remember the show and I didn't think it was funny.
