I was watching CD's Volume 5 and I got to this segment and was really intrigued by it. Right in the middle of it, the DVD stopped working and started skipping! Can anyone tell me what happened or if they ever found the other three guy's bodies or if they somehow survived?

I dont think they have ever found the other men. Families of the missing men received phone calls for years after with someone reciting their phone number in Spanish.
One call was received by a family member a few years on and the person simply said something along the lines of 'Im bringing them home'
This prompted people to think that perhaps the men had been sold into slavery or something similar etc.
I hope I got all this right - am just going by memory.

Hey I don't know about it, but I'm wondering what I can do about my UM dvds stopping midway and skipping? Does anyone know a solution? Does recording at a faster speed and using less room make errors like this less likely? I hate this cause I don't want to lose my collection one day.

As far as the men on the Kasey Nicole... only the one was pulled from the sea. The fates of the other three men are unknown.
Families of the missing men DID recieve mysterious phone calls in Spanish. The last call involved someone speaking one line of English, which was "I'm bringing him home." The families feel as if the men were taken captive and made a friend with someone who was going to try to get them free.
Good memory, Starlette! :)

I was wondering that myself. All five DVD-Rs that I got from CD have glitched on me at one point or another. Some worse then others. I think it may have something to do with my player though. It gives me trouble with real DVDs sometimes too.

Well crystaldawn's "Unsurpassed Ripoffs" dvds tend to glitch up on the sheer notion of their ripoff like nature. I put one of these dvds in my player the other day and it spit it out before even started and then shut down all together. Found the dvds offensive I guess ;) ;) ;)
No seriously folks, I've recieved several dvds from Crystal Dawn and they have always worked fine although certain dvd players seem to have difficulty playing DVD-Rs. I know my highest fidelity DVD player I own, usually rejects the dvd a few times although upon repeated attempts 99% of the dvds tend to play fine.
The skipping of the dvd could be caused by a poor burn. On the contrary Ryan, burning discs at a high rate of speed cause more errors to appear especially if you attempt later on down the line to copy the burnt disc for a friend. Always copy your discs at the lowest speed possible!
A good solution is to get some disc cleaning fluid at your local WAL-MART (should only cost you around $3 or so) and apply it to the disc and then wipe the disc down with a soft cloth (sometimes included along with the cleaning fluid). This should clear up most disc problems. (fingerprints, minor scratches, dust etc etc. all which can cause a disc to skip) Unfortunatley if you have had your UM dvds in your collection a long time and have not taken proper care of them "disc rot" can occur and then besides crossing your fingers and hoping the cleaning fluid does "its job" its basically up in the air whether or not your discs have suffered irreparable damage.

The first disc I put in the player wouldn't play - got the 'No Play' message. Second time I put it in it played fine and all the other discs worked well too.
Electronics... jeez...

I wish you guys would tell me if you're having problems with the dvds. No one has mentioned anything to me about any problems. Yes I have trouble with dvds from other sources freezing and not playing well and then the next time it plays fine. Someone several weeks ago said one of my dvds would freeze halfway through and I suggested they take it off and wipe it with a soft cloth and after that it worked great....go figure.
Yea right DD like I would even send you any of my "Unsurpassed Rip-Offs" after all the dissing you've done to them.....you wish. :p

I wish you guys would tell me if you're having problems with the dvds.
The way I see it... it was just a minor glitch on one disc and now that one and the others play fine so all's well. Much better compared to a certain Anchor Bay disc I bought that didn't play at all. :)
You are doing a fine job with them and I am looking forward to volume 6. :)

I just think my DVD player sucks, big time. When I play the DVD-Rs in mt laptop, they work almost perfectly.

I haven't had any problems with the DVD's, either, CD. And I've watched them on two DVD players in my house and my laptop. I think it just depends on the DVD player. :)
