it seems that there is a ebay seller who just may well be an old friend of ours

getyourdvds06 is the ebay user name

comes back to a brian seaver from chicago illinois

so whats wrong with this add and user

1--they are selling the favorite set of a banned , scamnmer thief

2- they have most of their feedback through fake penny auctions

3- they have a chicago address

it may well not be the usual suspect

but then no matter whom it is, beware

anyone who uses fake penny auctions to build enough feedback to quality for buy it know status, sets off numerous alarms and red flags in my book

if anyone has any info on this person, either good or bad, let it be known

or email me with it, if your afraid to post it out in the open

the time to post about a possible scammer, is not after they stole from people, its now before they suck you in to their trap

I'll take a look, but post the info when you have it. You left a letter out of the user ID. It's getyourdvds06.

I can't post what I found out, but it's my guess that the seller is using false contact info. In fact, someone else's phone number.

Someone else famous? Is that why you don't want to post it?

No. The name that comes up with the phone number is most likely not the Ebay seller. I don't want to post the name of someone that is likely innocent of what is going on.

before we jump the gun too much on this

1. it MIGHT be a chicago person we know, or it might be another unrelated chicago trader---- while it looks bad, we cannot say for certain

2. i know of several ebay sellers who have incorrect contact info listed on ebay for obvious reasons, and that does not in itself spell out a scam ---- i got a set last month from a guy, wrong contact info, but set was GREAT and he had 300 feedback over 6 months, 99% positive

i just think we have all just assumed this chicago is THAT chicago, and while it may be, it also may not be, so maybe we should take a breather

no matter whom its is

--wrong phone number

--at least two seperate names of the person

seaver or donavan

--a majority of their feedback is fake

from penny auctions

this smells of week old carp bait
