What did you think of the addition of Joey Lawrence to the cast? Was it good, bad, or indifferent to the show? Was he a talented kid actor added to bring more youth to the show?

Okay, the show was never that great in the first place, but at least with "Little Joey" it was watchable. Then the producers added him and then his brother. That was the end of the show right there. Bill 09-22-2000, 01:53 AM Joey reminds me of Scrappy-Doo. Gimme a Break started off sharp and funny. Later, it became "kinder and gentler". I felt insulted. It was like some studio bigwig's cruel joke. I was 10 when this show started, and was surprised to find a show so cool. With Joey added, it lost its edge. It was a lot tammer from there on out. desilu #1 10-21-2000, 08:45 AM I thought Joey was so cute! He was a great addition to the cast. I wish they could have recast the chief and Nell. It would have been wonderful if they could be friends but he would need to accept the fact that he wants Nell for more than friends. That was never going to happen because of the race issue! If anyone knows of the show playing on a Michigan station or something local, please let me know. ------------------ Amy M. Weaver |
