Season 9, with Season 4 as a close second.

I love all of the seasons up to 6 -- possibly 7.

I chose 2, though.

Season 5, because it focused more on Darlene's character that year.

Season 5 is my personal favorite season of Roseanne. I found the storylines to be the most interesting and the issues raised the most meaningful.

From the eldest daughter Becky running away and getting married to boyfriend Mark, Darlene loosing her virginity - while getting accepted to college, Dan going to jail - while also loosing his bike shop, Roseanne and Jackie opening the Lanford Lunchbox - while coming to terms with their childhood once their father passes away, DJ touching a boob - while also peeping at a naked neighbor, Jackie being in a physically and mentally abusive relationship and adding yet another gay character to the show - while showing the first lesbian kiss on television, this season was filled to the brim with a heavy and interesting plot that brought up some of the most controversial and meaningful issues in Roseanne's run on television.

Season 5 was the season in which scored both Roseanne Barr and Laurie Metcalf an Emmy for their outstanding acting on a hit-comedy series, went to #2 in the Nielson ratings and won the ever prestigious Peabody award!

Simply amazing season!

Season Six is my personal favorite. I really loved the storylines this season, and it had, in my opinion, the largest number of strong to superior episodes. "White Trash Christmas" and "A Stash From The Past" are number one and number two on my list of all-time favorite episodes.

Do not forget the masturbation episode! I believe that was in the 6th season. Such a funny episode! Darlene's character shines so much in that one!

Yeah, I love that one, too! Especially where Darlene says DJ got caught "playing with his instrument in band." I think Seasons Five and Six were the show at its absolute peak.

I love Seasons 3-6 especially but my favorite would be Season 6. Just so many classic episodes, with the top ones being the pot episode and Jackie getting knocked up. Other highlights would be the masturbation episode which was priceless, the episode where D.J. steals the car, and the series of episodes after Roseanne busts Darlene/David for living together(and David subsquently moving in with Jackie)
