Does anyone know if "The Jeffersons" stopped taping before a live audience at some point during the show's run? It seems in the later years, the show's audience laughter seemed muffled and "controlled". I know "All in the Family" stopped using live audiences around 1977 as did "One Day At A Time", but what about "The Jeffersons"?

I think it was probably in the 1980's as the viewers would stop hearing Isabelle Sanford say at the end, "The Jeffersons was filmed in front of a live studio audience."

The Season 7 episodes still have a "taped before a studio audience" credit in the end credits.
