Well here we have the final season of 7th Heaven. Why didn't they quit while they were ahead? Now we have no Matt, no Mary, no Simon, no Ruthie and we are left with a changed Lucy and the two twins who are hollow characters. Eric seems weak and Martin is a jerk, and what's Sandy going to do without Simon around? I just don't see how they can pull another season out of thin air.

Is Happy happy?

I think they have pulled the last few seasons out of thin air. Sandy will be OK without Simon - not sure how much time they spent together because Rose would of been jealous of her - Sandy's joining the seminary or something so that will give her less time to dwell on Simon (if she was in the first place). We never did find out what she was going to tell him at the end of last season. Ruthie will be back for at least half the episodes I believe. I believe the best we can hope for is that this is the last season and that the finale is better than the last one they did. I don't know about Happy - I believe the twins should spend more time with her - then again maybe Happy is avoiding them on purpose knowing they can't act very well.

A good example of when a TV Series has been on way too long .

^^^ My guess is many people are like me - they get hooked on a series and can't stop watching it no matter how bad it gets. At one point this was my favorite TV show to watch.

I heard that too... and the total season is only going to be 13 episodes.

Same way with me...I loved this show from the beginning... yeah, as the kids got older, I wasn't crazy about some of the story lines, but I actually think the writers did a good job of keeping this show going well for a long time... It was a very difficult task, handling the departures of Matt (for a while) and Mary... but the writers added characters, and constantly wove characters in and out of the series... and I kept watching it all along, even though we didn't like the show as much as we did when the family was 'intact'....

And while it's true that Sam and David still can't act, they've never been a huge part of the show... they've seldom been the center of attention, and the plots have never revolved around them. Which, to me, is a lot better than they way bad little kid actors have been handled on other shows in the past, where they force feed lines to kids that can't act in order to make them sound 'clever'...

I was actually glad the show was ending last season... and while the 'finale' didn't resolve everything, I thought it was a good time to finally end it.

But, since they brought it back for another 13 episodes, we'll be watching them, for sure... and, we'll probably get the entire series on DVD... if we live long enough to see that happen :)

btw, did Lucy go berzerk during her sermon, or what? She told Eric that she's thought about her situation a lot, and had some things she wanted to say.... man, I'd hate to hear a sermon from her if she DOESN'T think about it beforehand!

From TV.com:
On September 18, 2006 it was announced that "7th Heaven" was renewed for a full season of 22 episodes, instead of 13.

Lucy did go crazy during her sermon. I would think that after four months she would be a little more together after the miscarriage but maybe not - I have no personal experience so I really can't say.

Oh wow, I obviously hadn't heard that... thanks for the update!

I love 7th Heaven. But for the past few seasons I kinda skimmed through the episodes through my dvr out of boredom. It hasn't been the same since half the cast left and adding new people to replace the missing family members only made it worse. I watched last season more often thinking that it was the last season. I enjoyed the supposed last episode because it cleared alot of unanswered questions. That was when they should of made there official final bow and moved on the other projects. Adding on another season to a long running successful series seems to cause not just boredom, but lack of a story line since this is the final season.

Even though it jumped the shark big time, I will still watch, as always. I guess it's kind of hard to see a favorite show disintegrate into ashes.

There is always a problem when a show involves kids.

What the hell? They moved 7th Heaven to Sunday nights now at 8pm. I just saw the commerical. I won't be able to watch it anymore now. I tape another show that I like around that time because I can't watch it around that time because I'm out.

Geez, I'm soo behind on everything! I'm always really busy so I'll probably just wait til all the seasons come out on DVD and buy them, and then catch up.

Not sure what grade she is in. They probably don't tell us so we won't know when to expect her to graduate.
