I can't believe I haven't found this board with all my years on the Internet. I would have joined way sooner. :D The Facts of Life is my favorite sitcom of all time.
What can I say, um, I grew up with The Facts of Life, I remembered the 1st season but it didn't make an impression, but the rest of the seasons did. I had a crush on Jo, and I enjoyed watching everyone grow through the years.
I enjoyed the Eastland years, Edna Edibles years and the Over Our Heads years. The funny thing is that I was younger than the girls and I'm not a girl but when the show finally was finished. I was a junior in high school and boy did it leave a void in my last year in high school in terms of tv watching.
It's kinda weird trying to explain but I think the reason why out of all the sitcoms that aired while I grew up in the 80's, I was able to identify with their maturity, independence and the ability to fall on each other (and Mrs. Garrett) for help which I recall no other sitcoms had kids being played as that. I was rather mature for my age. :D
I watch the first half of the 2nd season this past weekend and I haven't seen any Facts of Life since they were first ran on NBC, and all of a sudden I remember these episodes, well the plots anyway. Didn't know Molly Ringwald was still around in the 2nd season!
Well, enough of my blabbering, didn't want to get too personal. I love the 80's and especially The Facts of Life.
