View Full Version : Is UM on the air anymore as of Sep. 22, 2006???
Big3sCompanyFan 09-22-2006, 01:26 AM I was over at a friends house and was looking at Lifetime and went through the digital cable guide and I didn't see it anywhere.
Is it totally off the air now??
You would think it can't run on like this forever since some of those episodes are over 20 years old and the likelihood of solving some of those cases becomes smaller and smaller.
I think there will be some incarnation of UM in the next 5 to 10 years on some network since it can be a very interesting, stimulating show.
As of now, it is completely absent from U.S. television. :(
Big3sCompanyFan 09-22-2006, 08:33 PM So, with it being totally off TV what do you guys have left to talk about here??
I would think updates and resolved cases would be a very infrequent occurence.

We talk about cases & updates to cases.
And no there is no news about Unsloved Mysteries coming back, for right now.
NDAlum2003 09-23-2006, 04:58 PM A lot of us have many of the episodes on tape, so there's always something to watch.
If you want to get some of the episodes on DVD we have some members who may be willing to help.

But there haven't been any new episodes in years so haven't most of you seen all of them by now? Also, many UM cases that are still unsolved are cold cases so I wouldn't think there would be updates very often.

You would think that if they were going to take it off the air, they would have at least given us a marathon??? Come to think of it, has Lifetime ever done a day or weekend marathon of UM?

There is no word as to when or if Lifetime will bring it back. :(

Yes they have, at least twice - The first aired around 1997 I believe and although I can't remember it a great deal, I remember they aired the "Bigfoot" segment during this particular marathon. The second aired in 2002 and was I believe a day long marathon (possibly aired on a Saturday or Sunday) but unfortunatley they only aired the "Lifetime edits" which culminated in a new "Unsolved Mysteries" episode which they aired in prime time. Actually I believe only one or two segments were "new", the rest were all recycles from previous broadcasts editted with 2002 era bumpers.

Yeah, but we like to watch a random one every now and then, or 1-3 times every weekday.
fluffyd13 09-29-2006, 12:36 PM Man it's so unfair! Protest! Protest! Dammit, that was the ONLY sshow on Lifetime I actually WATCHED! DAMN!
Dr. Jazz 09-29-2006, 01:45 PM I always figured the History Channel or Court TV would pick up UM reruns eventually. It would be a nice fit on one of those channels.
