Where is Gimme A Break these days?! Why won't anyone put it on the air, why was it even taken off the air in the first place?! I'm a writer, so I know what I'm talking about, Gimme A Break is, by far, the best show in the history of television. The best written, the best acted and the best concieved program in sitcom or any other genre. This show changed my life. And it became a springboard for future careers of Joey Lawrence,"Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Baby" and the other people as well that were on the show, like Jim J. Bullock, the bravest actor alive! And the father took over for the guy who used to play Mel on Alice, but I swear, I couldn't tell! And the blonde girl, my god, she should have gone on to become the next Susan Anton, she was that good! From a writer's standpoint, and I'm a writer so I know, this show was so well written, I re-write the old episodes at least twice a week to stay sharp. Where is this show? WHy isn't it on the air? Please, someone, put it back on. Let's rally, people, let's get Gimme A Break back on television where it belongs!

I totally agree. Gimme a Break, without a doubt, has never gotten the praise it truly deserves! Without this groundbreaking sitcom, there could never have been a "Cheers", "Friends" or "Homeys From Outer Space". Kari Michaelson was indeed as talented as she was pretty. I did not realize that Susan Anton was her mother. I think Kari went on to become an MTV VJ, if I'm not mistaken. However, I don't remember Jim J. Bullock being on the show. Wasn't he on that Gavin Macleod show "Too Close For Comfort?" Nell Carter, of course, is currently starring in that "Forgive and Forget" TV show as Mother Love.
RDilts, I am excited to hear that there's a fan/writer like you out there who is reworking old "Gimme a Break" scripts. Is there any chance you could send me one of those script? I would even be willing to trade you one of my Dolph Sweet memorabilias(only the ones I have two of, of course) for it.
Yes, I too would love to see the show brought back to television again, although it would be impossible to ever replace the late, great Dolph Sweet and they probably could not afford Kevin Costner's current salary anymore in order to bring him back to the show again. It probably can't hurt to wish, though!

Reply to Doug:
Actually,Ted Knight starred on the sitcom "Too Close for Comfort" where Jim J. Bullock played that geeky character Monroe Ficus, who happens to be one of my favorite characters. So you say he was on "Gimme A Break"?? And another thing,i don't know where you found this out but Nell Carter is NOT Mother Love, the host of "Forgive or Forget".Mother Love is a whole different person who i guess doesn't use her real name on stage.Ms.Carter and Ms.Love may walk, look, and talk the same, but they are two different people!!Well, as of this writing,Love is no longer the host of "FOF".A few months ago she was replaced as host by Robin Givens.
