I was thinking about getting netflix but im confused about the price. when i go to the site it says 5.99 a month but then i read around and it says its 17.99 a month? which price would it be? also if its 17.99 a month. is there anyway to get a discounted price per month??? is there a better place then netflix to get??????

I go with blockbuster. I had netflix for awhile but they were really really slow. Haven't really had any problems with blockbuster. They sent me the wrong movie a couple times but they always replaced it right away.

oh yea. peanutbutter is right. Sometimes blockbuster doesn't always send them in the order you have in your cue.

I find that Netflix has more of the rare stuff, which I like. And they are fast in our area...shipping takes one day! And I have never gotten the wrong movie.

But Blockbuster has free rentals at their stores along with their online membership, which is nice.

I don't think the $15-20 a month is that bad, if you rent a lot of movies...;)

I tried both Netflix and Blockbuster. They have their own pros and cons. Netflix has some rare discs and they really follow your online queue from your #1 Priority down, something Blockbuster doesn't. Even if your priority movies are available, the will send the 10th, or 20th, depending on their trip, lol! What good about Blockbuster is that they have weekly in store rentals, which is good, if you really like to watch that movie at once. I also get about 90% of the movies in 1 day. That is why I settled for Blockbuster.

At 8 at a time, you can get 4 orders in a month or 32 dvd's (4 x 8 = 32)
That still averages out to $1.50 a disc. Sounds like a pretty decent deal.

i do the 8 out at a time at blockbuster. before i started doing that i was doing 3 out at both netflix and blockbuster and i found netflix to be a great deal slower. 50 bucks a month is a little steep but oh well. the weekly rental from a blockbuster store is a nice bonus.

My experience has always been that Blockbuster is slower, but I have a distribution center (Netflicks) about 35 miles from me.

Yea I tried Nicheflix and they do (did) have lots of rare stuff, I was especially renting Region 2 discs from the UK. However their availability SUCKS. I think my Queue started off with about 48 discs and out of the 48 I got probably about 20 at the most in almost a year. I still had 28 in my queue that were all listed as "long wait" or "Out of Stock" after 2 months of getting nothing, I quit and only use thier Ala Carte service. Now I have 39 discs on my wish list queue listed as "out of stock" but at least I'm not paying the monthly price. I also read they may be discontinuing the subscription service, not a good sign they're going to be around much longer methinks.

They also rarely get in anything new. I think they only added 2 items in the Cult TV section in the last month.

Does anyone know of any other good mail rental places that deal in Region 2 discs?

ill probably go with netflicks. there is a so called hidden location probably less then 10 miles from me. there was a news report of one of the locations in orange county and the city its in is pretty much same as mine.

I think if you go to their website it will show where their distribution site is located-the city that is.

I also tried both, and i live in the city where they distribute out of. What i dont like about blockbuster is that if a movie is not available when it is that movies turn to come up, they wait instead of going to the next thing on your queue. Netflix would just goto the next movie you had waiting. This may just be my experience with them... A good perk blockbuster gives you is 1 free instore rental a week with some packages. So that was a nice bonus

Yup. Exact same thing here. Gets pretty annoying because we pay the same $$ that everyone else pays (on the same plan). So why should we be penalized for watching more movies than they do?

(Sometimes we don't even watch them all. We put them in & they are snore-ers, so back they go to Netflix.)

i have been a member of blockbuster online now for about 7 months with the 8 out at a time. i have about 250 movies in my queue and get discs just about every day. i put 6 discs in the mailbox this morning and i'll have 6 back by sat. morning

i did have about 50 titles in my list all the time, and some just never became avaible, but overall they did a decent job
