I watched this tv show before but I really don't remember ever seeing how Whitley ever hooked up with Dwayne?

I never liked them together! They just seemed so different for each other. I like Dwayne & Denise much better though..

Duayne used to like Denise at first I remembered, but what possessed him to like Whitley? I just want to know how they got together.

Dwayne and Whitley visited Denise at the Huxtable house only to see that she was married with a step daughter. Dwayne was devastated. On the way back to Hillman, I think there car broke down or were snowed in and Dwayne and Whitley kissed and that started their romance.

I liked that episode.I remember they were dancing in the beginning.I knew as soon as his hands were slowly going down,he was going south of the boarder if ya know what I mean;) .My favorite part was when Whitley had that day dream where they were making out in the computer lab.

The series is at this point of the show. Denise is now gone and it is all abt Dwayne and Whitley. What a great show from this point on. ;)

Yeah.That's when the storylines were better such as Whitley seeing how great having a job is and the episode where Freddie liked that baseball player but found out he was a rapist but luckly Dwayne jumped on top of the car and saved her.You couldn't see that coming if you haven't seen the episode for the first time

I agree. I never really cared for Dwayne and Whitley, either. I preferred Dwayne and Denise as well.

How did Dwayne "Pookie" "Chipmunk" Wayne and Witley "Miss Thang" Gilbert happen? is actually a good question because that story line would become one of main story line of the show ir not the main story because a lot of things are contained in Dwayne vs Witley when it comes Kids going to college, slowly becoming men and women, maturing, fiding their own voice, their true calling in the real world, separating from moms and pops influences to afirm themselves, finding a love interest, trying to build a relationship, overcoming many obstacles while building a strong relationship etc... There were other things in ADW, specialy issues of social and political importance, but in termes of the life of a student @ college and the basic he/she will go through, that storyline was a good summary.

When did that start is actually something only writters could say but after watching a youtube video that summarizes the relationship over six seasons and after Season 1 marathon this week-end, i can say this:
Season1 is the start of their first non romantic connection is when Witley land money to Dwayne for His (first and only) date with Denise, they start bonding as friend when a very sad Witley crashes at Dwayne & Denise date and he has the words to first help her realise she needs and can stand up to her mother which she kind of is always afraid of and as she is about let them enjoy their date, he asks her to stay and cuddles her as she is crying while Denise is admirative to see the sensitive nature of Dwayne... (That was the start of the humanization of Witley, as one writters said in an interview you can't just be B...tch for so long and for no reasons... people get bored)

In Season 2 after departure of Denise, Dwayne dates Col Taylor's daughter, but he starts bonding non romantically with Witley even more, both are starting top shrug off the silly reservations they had about each other and show a lot of care... The romantic sides is hinted when they share a Slow Danse and Dwayne's hands ends on Witley's behind, she rune sout of the room embarassed following that predicament she dreams and daydreams about her and Dwayne sharing an intimate moment??? A few months after Witley kisses (a little smooch not a french) while going to a movie after Dwayne was rejected by col Taylor's daughter and Witley was stood up by her date... By the end of the season, they are talking on Dwayne's balcony and almost share another kiss (they were goin for a french this time) but they snapp out of it, as that one would have meant that they start a relationship... The Attraction is now official... itenters the classic television "will they, won't they" zone...

Season 3 Things are getting clearer as in the first epiosdes Pookie and Missthang meets in the same plane on their way back to school, they decide to seat together and share conversations about vacations... Witley is impressed by Dwayne who wears a suite and tells her how great was his internship, Dwayne is becoming a man with a brilliant future with lots of ambitions and she notices... when they arrive at the Gilbert Halll, he says goodbye and she Kisses him yet again a little smoch on the lips in front of their surprised freinds... But later that day She visits his appartment and she sees the Goofy Dwayne dansing comedically in front of his friends, she is bit dispaointed and take a step back... he is embarassed that she saw him like that also... But Dwayne starts an active courtship of Witley, at Walter & Jaleesa's wedding Dwayne try multiple time to have her talk about her feelings but she is good at avoiding the subject, she then resume to kiss her the french way, a kiss so passionate that Witley almost faint, they discuss the situation and she admits not being ready for a real relationship... Then they go to NYC as Wittley attends her dad's wedding and he wants to see Denise, he discovers Denis is married and hsi dispaointed, when complaining about the situation to Witley on their way back to school she hints that there are other women out there who would be willing to love him and as they are stuck in witley's car waiting for help, they admit enjoying each other company, they then kiss but once again they are snapped out of it when helps arrives... They then try to be friend, Witley even sets Dwayne up for dates but she can't stand seeing him with another girl, and when Julian the new boyfriend to which she was ready to loose the V thing dispaoints her she turns to Dwayne for comfort, and then gives him a gift for always being supportive of her... They go seperate ways for summer internships


Season4 The summer si over Witley who received 4 letters from Dwayne during vthe summer (we learn it later though) while they were both pursuing internships intends to get the man she now knows she wants: Dwayne wayne, only to discover he has already found someone Kinu, a girl he met while in Japan, but this time she won't let it go and starts to plot Kinu's Way out and her own way in, into a relationship with Dwayne she even says to Kim "that girl is with Dwayne for 2 months Dwaynes has been wanting me for 2 years, believe me, i will get my man"... Witley& Dwayn Partner for The Goodwill games against Dawyne's girlfreind Avery College, during a late night prep session, they start to playfully pick on each other and ends up Kissing again only for Dwayne to tell her next morning, it was mistake, it was wrong, i have some lingering feelings for you, you're my one temptation, but i have a Girlfreind and need to respect that, to which she fires back, "yes you do, but i don't", after Kinu's team win the competition Witley tells Kinu "you're a formidable oponent" (i guess she wasn't talkin about the game) and while she watches Dwayne and Kinu go celebrate Kinu's victory she says "you may win the priez but i will get the main" after another plot that sees Witkey become the maid to Ron & Dwayne, Kinu realizes Dwayne has feelings for Witleyand she Finaly break up to Witley's satisfaction... The real Romance will actually starts when Dwayne invite himself to a dinner at Witley's place to set the records straight... which leads them to a conversation where Witley adlmits receiving his letters during the summer, writting replies but not sending them, she also admits that she thought playing games and tricks was the only way she can have him... The conversations goes on to the point that She says "I Love you" to Dwayne and later on he fires back "I Love you too" and they kiss.

Voila the rest is story, a break up after engagement party, Byron and a "bride steal" at the last minute to get Witley to marry Dwayne at her Wedding with Byron, struggle to adjust to married life, baby announcement and departure to Japan "off to a different world"
