they didnt leave they was fired after 5th season cause producers did not need them anymore since Nell and Abby moved to New york.it was sad and ruined the show

yeah it was on E true Hollywood stories as i remember the producer told Nell carter n the creater think it was several changes had be made for Gimmie a Break or it be cancelled so the girls was let go Grandpa sold the house.Nell abby moved to Ny only samanthea made few apperances at the Ny season but Katie and Julie was never seen again. guess u know the rest
