How come eddie startred paying rent to carl in the seventh season does anybody know why?

I have always Wondering that Question

I thought it had something to do with the Eddie drinking episode. I know there was an episode where Eddie was drinking and then Carl put Eddie out the house.

And then there was another episode where Eddie, Steve and Waldo shared an apartment and then Steve had some termites that ate the apartment up and that's when Eddie and Steve moved in with Carl and the family. So that's prob why Eddie paid rent.
