Ok, what would be your ultimate fictitious find? Imagine your looking at another trader's list, and there you see it, that single episode you always wish they had made. The one answers that question you've always had about a certain show, or that shows you something you've always wanted to see happen in a certain show.

Now, this has to be an episode that as far as you know, does not exist, not one that's just rare.

Here's a few basic examples to get us started:

Columbo - Lost episode in which he co-stars with his wife, and she calls him by his first name.

Roadrunner - Unreleased episode where coyote finally catches roadrunner.

Frasier - Unaired episode where Niles finally introduces Marris.

Home Improvement - Unaired episode where Wilson pops his whole head above the fence.

Superman (any version) - Episode where Clark Kent walks into the office and everyone realises it's Supeman with cheap glasses.

Get the idea? What episode(s) would you love to find?

Hmmm, what a cool idea.

I guess ... the episode of Lost in Space where the Robinsons finally make it home, safe, sound, and not a dream or an alien plot.

You know, I found a web site that purports to answer that, based on notes by the creator of the series. I need to find that link - it was really interesting. Supposedly there were plans to film an episode that did just that - answer the question.

One of those PokeMon Balls, and inside it is a new house.

Or, Id settle for Turnabout, complete- I always say this-

Not even altered, just to see it.

But if I was going down Fantasy Lane-

I could say the obvious Gilligan gets home, or even Happy Days- and we find out what happened to his brother..

Or, Fantasy Island, Tattoo getting married and taking over the Island- after Rourke retires.
He deserved it.

Gilligan and the rest did get home in "Rescue From Gilligan's Island" Anyway, I think the story about Richie's older brother Chuck was that he was off at college, probably on a basketball scholarship. It's funny that once he left the show, they never talked about him. You think maybe he came out of the closet and Howard couldn't accept it? I like the Tattoo idea, but he hires Verne Troyer (Minnie Me) to be the new Tattoo. Tattoo bossing another dwarf around sounds funny!

I actually wrote a script in college for my advanced scriptwriting class. Our final was we had to pitch it to someone who was actually in the industry in Hollywood. This was when all of those retrospective specialls were really in style with the networks, so I did one on Happy Days. It takes place in 1975 (about the length of time the show was off the air and I was in school) Richie was a filmmaker (who just finished a movie dealing with a big shark;) Fonzie owned an auto parts corporation, Ralph a Stand Up comedial, Potsie a Lounge Singer, Joni and Chachi married, etc. There was a plot wrapped around your typical "remember the time that we..." flashbacks. I had a bit in there where Chuck actually appeared at the front door. The family acted normally but there was a scene in the kitchen where Howard asked "So how is the CIA business" then Marion pipes in "Yes Chick, oh, I'm so glad you've become de-classified so now we can see more of you. We missed you" The scene was actually really funny and really worked believe it or not.

Anyways, long story short I was actually able to send the script and pitch the idea to Gary Marshall over the phone. He really liked the idea and in fact was involved in the Happy Days retrospective special at the time. But he said they had absolutely no budget for it and not willing to spend the money on production costs (he pitched an idea sort of along the same lines and ABC said no. What idiots!

I like the "CIA business" angle. That would explain why they never talked about it (or were forbidden to).

If you find that Deb, I'd love to read it myself. The Coronet Blue Preservation Effort website does not mention anything about it, only that "the writers of the series were told to develop scripts and pay no attention to the meaning of 'Coronet Blue.'"

Grae - According to what I read, Michael Alden was actually a Soviet agent whose code name was "Coronet Blue." Apparently, he'd just arrived in the US after his "American training" and his fellow spies tried to kill him (can't remember the reason - maybe he wanted to defect?). The reason he was never able to find a trace of his old life was the fact that he had none in the US.

In 2006, this sounds silly, but in 1966, this was very much a part of the Cold War mentality. I don't know, the concept gives the show greater resonance for me - here's this amazingly decent guy who's really an enemy of everything he now believes in.

Was this (http://wesclark.com/ubn/coronet_blue.html) where you read about that explanation?

Actually, no. I remembered where I read about the show - on http://www.jumptheshark.com - someone posted this:

From a posting by George on "the Blackboard" (a film noir discussion board): "Here's some more info on this short-lived series from the Larry Cohen bio, "The Radical Allegories of an Independent Filmmaker" - "When the Brodkin Organization took over the series, they wanted to turn it into an anthology...so they played down the amnesia aspect until there was nothing about it at all in the show.... It was just Frank Converse wandering from one story to the next with no connective format at all.... Anyway, the show ended after seventeen weeks and nobody found out what 'coronet blue' meant. "The actual secret is that Converse was not really an American at all. He was a Russian who had been trained to appear like an American and was sent to the U.S. as a spy. He belonged to a spy unit called 'Coronet Blue'. He decided to defect so the Russians tried to kill him before he can give away the identities of the other Soviet agents. And nobody can really identify him because he doesn't exist as an American.... "'Coronet Blue' was actually an outgrowth of 'The Traitor' episode of THE DEFENDERS." Larry Cohen wrote the "Blue' episode titled "A Dozen Demons".
