View Full Version : Pav did you notice the EXTENDED Opening Credits for the Ropers??
TVFactFan 09-17-2006, 11:24 AM I was watching the first Ropers ep which was the one wth Larry and noticed the Different Opening Credits. Also I noticed some additional scenes in that episode with Larry. There was a hot tub scene with Ann in her black bathing suit which was NOT on the episode I sent you. So I was very surprised Last Night
Chuck89 09-17-2006, 12:09 PM TV Land showed the extended opening in every episode aired. They also ran the closing credits announcer and split screen free!
The closing theme was the rare version with a slower beat to it than the opening and had a voiceover by Audra Lindley saying "The Ropers was videotaped in front of a studio audience".

That's because TV LAND knows the show is not on DVD-lol They do things like this when they are the only ones who have the Ropers Uncut versions-lol By the way, that Closing Theme was HORRIBLE
Pavan 09-17-2006, 12:30 PM Yes, very rare. I even saw some tags in there. I haven't timed the episodes yet, but there could be a chance this was unedited.
gilligan fanatic 09-17-2006, 12:32 PM Solomon, you sent me the one from Larry, do you know what year the repeat was from?
TVFactFan 09-17-2006, 12:35 PM Yes, very rare. I even saw some tags in there. I haven't timed the episodes yet, but there could be a chance this was unedited.
Pav that's what I was thinking-lol I was like-"Wait a Tag scene for the Ropers? It maybe unedited. And I was even going to record the eps because I have them all on DVD.

Repeat?
gilligan fanatic 09-17-2006, 12:40 PM Repeat?
I thought the one you sent me was a repeat from somtime during the 80's.
TVFactFan 09-17-2006, 12:43 PM I thought the one you sent me was a repeat from somtime during the 80's.
Oh Yeah it was, I think it was from a local station in California.
gilligan fanatic 09-17-2006, 01:32 PM Oh Yeah it was, I think it was from a local station in California.
Ok, I think I might have something recorded in every state-lol

probbably-lol
Pavan 09-17-2006, 03:16 PM If anyone can make a video of the opening/closing that TV Land aired for SO and my TC website, it would be great. I would myself, but I have been just very busy. I'd credit you of course.
I hope tonight they don't do VO's and split screen for Three's a Crowd. We have the unedited opening on SO and my TC website, but I don't think I have a good version of the closing.

I can do it Pavan, I burned them to DVD so it would be real easy for me to make them.
Pavan 09-17-2006, 03:27 PM Oh, great, thanks so much. You'll be credited.
Also, I didn't get to catch the unaired pilots on TV Land, but did unaired pilot #2 have actual closing credits, or was it just like on DVD?
gilligan fanatic 09-17-2006, 03:57 PM I missed the pilots too so I don't know
Here is the video, it is ten Mega Bytes http://www.freewebs.com/gftapes/The%20Ropers.mpg
Pavan 09-17-2006, 04:09 PM Darn, thanks. I had the 2nd unaired pilot on on Saturday at 9:30am, but didn't think to stick around for the closing credits.
Thanks for the file. I'm downloading now; is it the opening? Or both opening/closing?
gilligan fanatic 09-17-2006, 04:13 PM Just the opening, I can get the closing too if you want it
Pavan 09-17-2006, 04:20 PM Yeah, that would be great, because I have never heard Audra Lindley saying "The Ropers is taped in front of a live studio audience."
Pavan 09-17-2006, 05:01 PM The episodes are not unedited, because I timed the one with Larry at around 22 minutes. But TV Land gives us tag scenes and some other scenes not seen in normal syndication, but they do remove some scenes we normally see. They also gave us full original opening and closing credits. So, I think this is a plus. Also, if you have versions from local channels and the ones from TV Land, you put both together and you might have the episode unedited.
