I have 6,748 posts and when you hit find posts by this user I have 6673, that means 75 of my posts are missing.

I am assuming it is from posting in threads that were deleted such as threads with fighting and replying to Spam. 75 is a lot though, I am just curious to see how many others are missing some of there posts.

when a post is deleted, it does subtract from the post total. i know i've lost over a thousand posts in the past, and according to the search thing i've only lost about 50.

This is post 1941, and on the search, I had 1937 posts.

Kay, on here I have 21, 997 and on my profile, I have 21,997, so I clearly win.

37,366 - 37,353 = 13 posts for me.

I have 7,959 as of this post and it showed that I have 7919, so 40 are missing.

I am gonna take a guess here and say those posts are ones in the post graveyard. That is why they still count, but can't be searched.

Did no one stop and notice I'm missing over 1500 posts?

(The first 1500-ish I made were in the first year, on the old software. I got one of the first username changes - but the forum software was buggy, and so those 1500 never show up for me, but rather as "Devastation26" on a "Guest" status.)

If your total was manually updated by me, then those changes are sometimes wiped out when I run an update on the statistics. It only counts posts in the database.

The latest post number id was 3,320,224 and it shows 3,268,276 posts on the main page, so there have been 51,948 posts that were either deleted or are missing.

How are you doing the search? That might be only the threads you've created. If you go to your profile and do a search for "all posts", you'll get a more accurate number.

Derrrrrr. I don't know what I did wrong. I did it again and it was 2,580. Don't know what I did there. :lol:
