Can you beleive that the Hard Drive turned 50 years old this year. In 1956 about a large as a frigde(two of them) and could hold about just enough as one MP3 sotrage in them. Thats only about one song. Can someone please link the yahoo news to this poost as Hard drive turns 50. Thanks.

i've got a friend who has two ancient hard drives that he uses as end tables; the things weigh a TON, are less than 5 Meg capacity, and actually fire up - you can hear the drive heads "CLANK" as they move.

The fact that they still fire up and "clanking" is amazing to me. :lol:


Ive seen the inside of those harddrives, the Discs were big as regular LP's!

Pretty interesting! Thanks for posting the links. I have forwarded them to our Introduction to Computer instructors to show to their classes. I think it'd be something they'd like to know.
