View Full Version : 'Simpsons' to Continue Indefinitely
Brian Damage 09-11-2006, 11:38 AM HOLLYWOOD - The Simpsons creator Matt Groening insists his popular show will keep going for as long as it continues to entertain people.
The animated show, which is kicking off its 18th season this month, has just scooped its 23rd Emmy and is coming to the big screen with a summer 2007 movie.
He explains, "My attitude at this point is, as long as the people who work on the show are having a good time, let's keep doing it.
"We've always tried to entertain ourselves and figured that the outside world would be entertained if we were making ourselves laugh!"

ILuvZackMorris 09-11-2006, 08:07 PM Hey, it fills my sunday night at 7:00 central time slot. Otherwise I watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
Only problem is that they need to stop delaying the Halloween episode just because of baseball! Why can't they just air it on Halloween NIGHT?
Eh.
Last night's season premiere wasn't that good, IMO.
I'm not sure if the Simpsons should stay around forever.
;)

Scoobiedoo30 09-12-2006, 05:25 PM This is Awsomw News I Love watching The Simpsons when
I get home at 12:35 am on early Monday Mornings
Diamond 09-16-2006, 10:33 PM I can't believe the show has been on ever since the year I was born. I think it's great and that it should keep going! I can't wait to see the movie.
Dr. Thong 09-17-2006, 06:45 PM The Simpsons was at its peak from 1991-1996. The current episodes aren't bad, but they aren't very good either. Sometimes it's good to leave the party a little early rather than linger on until you're the last one in the room.
Of course, I still continue to watch it. If it got really bad, I would stop.
The theatrical movie should have been done around ten years ago, when the show still had some fire to it.
CrimsonTide4 09-17-2006, 07:09 PM Can they at least age the kids? Get Maggie away from the pacifier finally! Let us experience Bart and Lisa as pre-teens or even teenagers.

Moves like this always kill shows. This is what I've observed through watching television.Whenever a show makes a drastic change it's cancled.

I agree with everything you said.
Have you been peeking at my notes?

That's one of the reasons why the show was successful for all these years...because everything was kept the way it started....I bet if they would've made all the characters age through out the show, the ratings would've gone down and it would've probably lost a lot of viewers.

I get your point as well as 80s Guy, but I think The Simpsons could potentially handle the change. Or at least give them some new outfits and hairdos. :p

It would be intresting to se this.I'd still watch had they done this years ago.I don't think the show can take this kind of change at this point. The show's already going downhill. So,they may as well leave it like it is.I'm cannot wait for the movie release.
