I already say those words, but dress 70s? I do have my limits. As much as I wished the 70s really was NOW, I'm pretty sure I couldn't go out wearing any plad bell-bottoms without getting egged.

Well...you never know, the 70s fashions might come back in high demand in some years. They always say "history repeats itself." On the other hand, maybe the 70s was just a one time thing.

Yep, the 70's were great. Most of the new TV shows in those days were pretty decent, and many local syndicated stations had reruns of 50's & 60's shows. The music on the radio in those days was good too. I listened to a lot of AM top 40 radio in those days, lots of great songs. I have a large collection of 70's hit songs, covering all the years from 1970-79. Does anyone remember The Hudson Brothers? They had a Saturday Morning TV show for a while which wasn't that good, but they had two great albums out. One was called "Totally Out Of Control" and the other was "Hollywood Situation". Those albums belong in a 70's time capsule. My favorite 70's year would have to be 1974. 1971 and '75 come pretty close too. The worst 70's year was 1979, because disco was terrible and the decade was getting ready to come to an end. In 1979, it seemed like most people were tired of the 70's and were eager to start the 80's. You could sense the changes in the air, it was kinda depressing at the time.

Although I wasn't around for the 70s, I know what you mean and I couldn't agree more. Entertainment in general has lost something since the 50s, 60s 70s and 80s, when people really knew how to write a good song, make a good TV show or write a good movie script. Now it's all just American Idol, reality TV and movie with the bugets all spent on 3D animation while forgetting about the story. I miss those times, even though I wasn't part of them :(

As a fashionable gay man in his late 30's, living in San Francisco, I have to say that it is not only entirely possible to incorporate elements of our favorite decade, the 70's, into our everyday wardrobes and hairstyles (see my avatar), but it's actually quite vogue for even those who weren't born 'til the 80's to mix and match ALL the last 3 decades into one, big New Millenium style.

Think short, spiky, punk rock hair worn with bellbottoms and a button down shirt with a t-shirt over that..

Or a shag haircut worn with New Wave sunglasses, skinny jeans and a Members Only jacket.

Or a shaved head and tattoos with plaid polyester slacks and a leather vest.

Flip flops with Chinos and a tank top.

Anything goes in the 21st Century and the more mixed up the decades, the better!

I still love the 60's & 70's. I love waerings 60's & 70's type clothes like flared pants. Back then I had a pair of those plaid bell bottoms. My hubby did too lol. I always told him he looked he'd gotten them off of a dead golfer rotfl. I still like bellbottoms just not in plaid lol...
