NEW YORK (AP) - Brad Pitt, ever the social activist, says he won't be marrying Angelina Jolie until the restrictions on who can marry whom are dropped. "Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able," the 42-year-old actor reveals in Esquire magazine's October issue, on newsstands Sept. 19.

In the article he reflects on "fifteen things I think everyone should know."
Though Shiloh, the world-famous daughter of Pitt and girlfriend/earth mother Angelina Jolie, hogged much attention upon her birth in May, Pitt says he "cannot imagine life" without adopted children, Maddox, 5, and Zahara, 1.

"They're as much of my blood as any natural born, and I'm theirs," says Pitt. "That's all I can say about it. I can't live without them. So: Anyone considering (adoption), that's my vote."

Pitt, who plays a world traveler in the upcoming drama "Babel," subscribes to a laid-back parenting style.

"I try not to stifle them in any way," he says. "If it's not hurting anyone, I want them to be able to explore. Sometimes that means they're quite rambunctious."

Lucky kids. "I feel it's really important to have that time to sit and talk to them," he continues. "I really like that last minute before they fade off. And always give them a heads-up before you jerk them out of something. You need to tell them, like, 'You have three more minutes.'"

The man left his wife for another and then has a child out of wedlock(I know it is PC now to do that) and then has the nerve to give parenting tips? Oh pleeeease..

Sounds like he is never getting married then.

I'm glad that Brad Pitt supports the right of everyone to marry, but part of me sees it as a cop out. He's taking the high and mighty route when in actuality maybe it's easier not to be married just in case a divorce does occur and then assets need to be divided. Wow, I'm cynical aren't I?

Exactly! It would have been a profound statement but they both have been married before.

He has to be the most stupidest person in the world to leave Jennifer Aniston.

Let's see, Brad's been married once, Angelina's been married...twice I think...

Maybe they should get married when they can do it RIGHT!

Wow you guys are pretty harsh. Now, I love Aniston & I'll never forget what he did to her and I agree his politics are completely annoying. I respect all the stuff he's been doing, but it's almost too good and just a media spectacle. With that said, why are you so mad at this article?

Who says he has to get married? I think he just says these things sometimes to get a rise out of the media just for political rise. People are so interested in when he's getting married, but not when those same-sex people who wish to be.

I've noticed recently that it just seems like everyone here and everywhere else really love the bash celebrities, no matter what they're doing. I'm just as guilty too, but Pitt didn't really do anything else. Just everyone has a negative comment.

Nobody's mad at the article. It's a message board, not a tribute board. People can post what they want. No need to serve up the guilt.

I'm not trying to serve up guilt. I'm just saying, for an article that isn't for once about arrests or problems in the celebrity world, people just seem negative. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, by all means, hate the guy.

I don't think anyone hates him. When a celebrity makes public statements, it's only natural to respond. It is sort of an off the wall reason for him not to marry Angelina, but then, this is Hollyweird.

Maybe everyone is sick of hearing about Brad and Angelina, personally I feel the media went overboard with the coverage of their baby.

Yeah, nice way to get out of marrying someone, Brad!;)

Great, more spoiled kids in the world who think they can get away with everything; Who grow up to be spoiled adults who think they can get away with everything.
