Both my prents were born in Poland. And I went there every other year for the whole summer, so if you count it all up, I spent 11 months over there. I've been there 5 times already. :D

I live in Canada, but I know everyone must know that by now by just looking at the location underneath my username. One of my grandfathers came to Canada from Chekyslovakia. And, my great grandfather, great grandmother, great aunt and great uncle came to Canada from Russia. I've never been to another country. I hope to travel around someday, though.

I was born and live in England, but I've been to America twice and I'm going to New York this summer.

I've been in other countries around Europe too.

I was just gonna correct her on that too. People always seem to pronounce that wrong.
Whereabouts in Wales is your Gradfather from Bitt Britt? I've been to Wales several times. It's a lovely country.

Can I ask you something? I've always wanted to ask you and always forgot and got mad at myself. England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland all come together to form The United Kingdom, which is a country. But then are England, Scotland, and Wales seperate countries? Are they like regular countries where they handle their own imports, affairs, national security, etc. like other countries such as Belgium or Spain, or are they kinda like states, like New York, where they make some of those decisions, and you can cross the border from England to Scotland without any passports and visas, but the majority of everything is handeled in London, capital of the United Kingdom? If you don't get this I'm sorry and if you don't want to answer, that's ok. I'm just curious. I always wanted to know.

 I did a big project on the UK last year and I don't even know the answer. I think they're all kinda separate countries.

Yeah, I have a question too (Poor Mossopp, lol)

The state.....province...country..(whatever you'd like to call it) of Scotland, are they under the rule of the English, ah, Queen? I'm sorry.....the answers probably most obvious, but I'm a little lost when it comes to this stuff.

 I think she's still a little worked up about the Haggis. Remember Trixie, it's not a three legged bird. I don't think 3 legged birds even exist. I'm just joking. :joke: I'm not being mean. Honest! :D

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH shut up about the Haggis. Not my fault I'm a tad bit ignorant....(or is it?) Don't talk about it either. I don't want Mossopp to get mad again.

And now I know what a 'haggis' is. It's like a stuffed sheep's stomach or something.

1 - I'm glad some of you are taking an interest in my country. A lot of Americans seem completely oblivious to the fact that other countries even exist, so thank you.

2 - I'm sorry for freaking out about the whole haggis thing. I was just getting annoyed about people making up stupid stories about it that were obviously untrue. And I was getting even more annoyed at the fact that some people were beliveing these stories.

3 - To answer the question in hand. England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland all make up the United Kingdom/Britain. They are all separate countries but you do not need a passport to travel between them. London is the capital of the UK, it is also the capital of England but Scotland and Wales have their own capitals too (Edinburgh and Cardiff respectively). Scotland and Wales also have their own parliments but all the big political decisions are made by the parliment in London.

4 - To answer Trixie's question. First of all Queen Elizabeth is not "the English Queen" - she is the British Queen. Please sweetie, don't make me give yet another lecture on the England vs Britain thing ;) .
To be honest, the Queen has very little say in anything anymore. The Monarchy is actually pretty redundant now and I am of the belief that it should be abolished altogether. The Prime Minister has more say in how the country is run than the Queen does.

So then, what does she do? Sit on her throne all day and have all these poor peasant people wait on her hand and foot? And oooo does she wear a crown and have a cloak thingy and have like, pure gold jewlery?

I should marry into the Royal Family. "Queen Trixie" :D

Ah, thank you Mossopp! And don't worry about it, I'm not your typical American. ;) My parents immigrated here in the 80's and I've been in Europe for 11 months over the past 12 years, and I plan on gpoing to Costa Rica hopefully in 2003 and show off my spanish sklls, so I know about all the other 200 or so countries of the world. LOL No need to worry about little ol me. But I do know those kind of people. I ask them to name another foreign country and they either say Canada, Mexico, or even (get this) Hawaii. Some Americans (No offense to Americans here) are soo dumb and narrow minded.
