The twentieth season of America's Most Wanted begins tomorrow night, Saturday, September 9. Hard to believe, huh?

When AMW began as a mid-season replacement in early 1988, Fox was only a fledgling network, with only a small number of affililates (including Boston's channel 25, which is in my area). And now more than 18 years later, the show has resulted in over 900 captures.

It was ten years ago this month when AMW was taken off the air, because Fox had canceled it. Fortunately, though, a public outcry prompted Fox to rethink that decision. When the show was finally reinstated in November of 1996, it had been off the air for six weeks.

For those of you who still watch AMW (as I do), I hope you will keep tuning in to the show. But for those of you who have stopped watching it, I hope you will give the show another chance. In any case, tune in for the show's twentieth season premiere tomorrow night at 9:00 PM Eastern Time/8:00 PM Central Time.

I live not too far from where one of tomorrow night's stories took place--the escape from jail of John Parsons, who killed a police officer. Many police officers' widows here are concerned that not too many people in our area will watch, cuz it is on opposite the OSU/Texas football game. But those of you outside Ohio may be able to help--it is thought that Parsons is long since out of this state. Please do be sure and watch, thanx!

Is the show still on Fox?

Is the show still on Fox?

The Fox network owns the show (especially since it is produced by 20th Century Fox). So the answer to your question is yes.

Yes, I heard last night! Fantastic!

I still wonder, though, how it was so impossible to catch him when apparently he never left the area...

Happy Late 20th Anniversarry Amercial's Most Wanted

The "20th Anniversary" part is premature, as the show doesn't actually achieve that honor until 2008 (the series debuted as a mid-season replacement in early 1988). Nice message anyway. :)

It is Hard to Belive that Amercia's Most Wanted has been on The Air for 20 Year's Now.
