Ahhh...

"Everybody cut loose, cut loose- kick off your Sunday Shoes"

Sure you know what movie that is from-

Right?

Music has been in movies and tv shows, pretty much throughout-

Sometimes the more popular the show, the more music they cram in-
or more rights they get- it is publicity after all

But what do you think?

When you trade for a show, and get to watching it- does music add to the enjoyment or ruin it for you?

Have you ever liked a soundtrack MORE than the show you traded for?

Some popular shows that music was a large part of of course was

W.K.R.P

Another popular one currently is Supernatural
A song was highlighted each episode, mainly at the end- it was the cue out.

Great picks if you ask me, and really got me thumping - to the next episode.

At times they have over done it, Glory days for example, added so much music, they had to "recap" what was in it at the end- took 7 minutes out of the show

but in all, music is part of many shows

"believe it or not I am walking on air..."

Was a top hit, when Greatest American Hero was out

And' Welcome back kotter-the theme song-
Still a hit or a golden oldie

SO what was your favorite theme song for a show you traded for, or still to this day enjoy?

So many good themes ... and lots that can stand on their own as just plain great songs. Some of my favorites:

Chico and the Man - Chico and the Man
Jesse - Time for You (by one of my favorite disbanded pop bands The Tories!)
Friends - I'll Be There for you (although so overplayed, still a great song by a great band!!)
Jake Effect (don't know the title or artist, but love the song!)
Empty Nest - Life Goes On (duh! Harry Weston is watching you!)
Gidget - (Wait till You See) My Gidget (can't help but sing to that one!!)
WKRP in Cincinnati - ("got kinda tired of packin' and unpackin'...")

I loved when Drew Carey used the Moon Over Parma song...very cute!

For instrumentals:
Sports Night
Two Guys and A Girl
West Wing
Wings
John Laroquette (funny one)
Newhart (very catchy)
Andy Griffith (classic!)
Dick Van Dyke (same)...

are some of my favorites!

I remember sitting by the AM radio with my cassette playing just dying for it to be played so I could tape it (a precurseor for addictions to come ?!?!).

Must have taken me weeks to get a copy where is was not voiced over by DJ's or cut off. Loved that song and show
