Was she talking abt a VCR or a Camcorder? Weren't they called Videotape recorders?

You tell us Solomon, you bought a VCR when they first came out right? How much did you pay? When I bought ours in 1986 it cost $500!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just the pre-recorded videotapes in 1983 were something like fifty or sixty bucks!!

You know I'm not sure, I heard Videotape and I assumed she was referring to a VCR because why would she need a camcorder?-lol

On a Bob Newhart episode a criminal who is coming to Bob's office (played by Henry Winkler) buys Bob a tape recorder and this is from 1974. He tapes Monday Night Football. Anyway, that is a few years before the Jeffersons episode, this is what the recorder looks like, it is reel to reel.
