Just curious to know which character you think was more 80s? I like to hear your opinions.

Willis' friends, Dudley and Robbie.
Willis Jackson or Kimberly Drummond

Curious to hear from the people at the forum, you know.

I would have to see them again to decide which one is more 80's :D ...

I know it's not part of the choices, but Arnold wearing a "boy george" t. shirt is so terribly 80's  I'd forgotten about that, i had to watch the opening of season six or seven on youtube to be reminded.

Love those Jordache jeans on her.;) At least the jeans made her look good, but I agree on Kimberly. I wonder why I thought Willis....probably the many hairstyles he had in the 80s. Didn't Willis had short hair....oh, wait.....mini fro and afro. Those are the things are remembered. He had short hair later in the seasons...but I love the jacket from the 1st and 2nd Seasons. That was a cool jacket he wore. Not the red one...but it was a light blue fall jacket. Can't remember which one it was.

You focus on so many details 88survivor
Willis also used to wear hats in the first few seasons and i don't think he ever did afterwards.Good morning 80's !
Kimberly's hairstyle when she came back for an episode (i think it's the one...or maybe it was the few episodes just before Dana Plato was fired) is so dated...Very 80's. Sort of "hair metal" curls...if i remember well !

PS : By the way, coming back just for one episode must have hurt

That was sort of Mark Hamill hairdo(circa 1983 Return of The Jedi)..but still...

Oh, yes, that was the jacket. Light blue with the almost rainbow colors at the sleeve(I think). Did resemble like an 80s jacket a bit, even though the jacket was from 1978-1980 season.

Here is my order:

Willis followed by Arnold
Kimberly
Dudley and Robbie

Willis - The Michael Jackson afro-mullet style, esp. in the last season in '85.

Then:
Kimberly and Arnold.

Those "Say what?" were practically Willis' catchphrases(abeit short-lived)... Arnold's words were also "Watchoo Talkin' About...**fill in the blake**"

i'd say Mr. Drummond...Bain's look was neither 70s nor 80s per se. so it fit into the decade nicely.

I laugh a lot when Bain's character spew these ridiculous jokes. He tries to be cool. He tries to be hip. He tries to run for the election. He tries to be part of the working man. Instead, he fails miserable and comes to realization what Drummond is all about. Rich and moralisitc. Though he is the probably the original Yuppie to what all the 80s Yuppies are all about: fame, money, date hot ladies younger than you, and a limo with service. What is missing a BMW......just kidding.

Yes! I remember in one episode in the mid '80s Arnold was wearing a Van Halen Tour T-Shirt (from the tour supporting the Van Halen album "1984")

And of course, when Arnold dressed up like Mr. T.

Jesus ! :D I don't even remember that and i've seen them all. I must have blocked it

There's an episode where Willis' older lover (while he still dates Charlene) checks out the family's record collection and there's The Police and The Who (I love the Who...but their contemporary releases, ie their last two studio albums, were terrible).Willis also had a Cars poster when he moved away in his own apartment.

MegamanJ2004 got it right. Mullets are awful, even if afros rule, if you add "mullet", it's a crime :D

 Nice colorful choice of clothing, Dana. Though you will have to agree that some of the kids' clothing really became the original 80s clothing when the decade came into full effect. Though Willis' light blue jacket was nice. That's a cool jacket he wore.....it was much better than Drummond's jacket. Could we also add Willis' dance moves or hand flips as 80s, too? I especially like the quote where Arnold makes, "We like to move it to 1984." Forget what that meant, but it was funny.Though we have to give Gary Coleman some credit....he was the first Webster before we even knew Emanuelle Lewis. No, another 80s moment in the series had to be when Willis is teaching Mr. Drummond the way to walk cool and Mr. Drummond ends up looking like a stiff when he walks. You know, Blue Collar Drummond episode.

Willis had about 10 hair styles durring the show and always more than one in a season especially if you look at season 8 he starts with a Michael Jackson Billy Jean video curl then just a regular mullet then the faded eagle mullet then afro mullet (which you see the openning of season 8) then a afro curl (reminding of season 3) then a low fade. I could go on about Todd Bridges and his hair durring the show

Todd Bridges really did set the tone of 80s hairstyles for the The Jacksons and Eazy E.....I mean, who knows? Jermaine or Tito probably stoled it. Nah, the Jacksons were the king of afros. If you look at the episode where both Drummond and the kids are in their school uniforms(1st Season), with the sunglasses on and all, he had an Eazy-E like fro before we even knew who Eazy E was.

SAY WHAT? ;)

Hey, don't forget that Todd Bridges was Willis JACKSON in the show. And that Janet JACKSON played Willis' girlfriend. That's a lot of connections...

Willis' hair in the 1st Season episode where the head master didn't accept the boys because didn't pass the test. It was almost like a pre-Gheri curl look before we knew what a Gheri curl was......just watched that and you'll see what I mean.

Yeah, I know Janet Jackson played Willis' girlfriend. She also had an album that was released around that time, too.

Yeah, i saw that Janet Jackson instore once, and there's "the magic is working" on it, the song she sings in a Diff'rent Strokes episode.

One question: How many seasons did he do those dance moves?

Ah, children of the 80s reunite. Love the clothes the kids wore. I remember in reruns during the late 80s.....really a good memory tripper. I hated when Spike T.V took it off the air...that stinks.

How about those back flips he used to do?

Seasons 1 & 2 are true 80s staple back flips...pretty cool moves, huh? I know back flips are not new, but they paved the way as to how the 80s would become. Take a look at Kids Incorporated and you'll see what I mean.

since im new to this and i only saw seasons 1-4 of DS because they took it off ON DEMAND. Ill have to say willis because later on he wore his shirt tucked in most episodes and that is so 80s we dont do that anymore.
