For me, the original Star Trek series, which was just plain silly on TV, became a really enjoyable series of movies!

You forgot Dirty Dancing.

And Starsky and Hutch, and Clerks, the cartoon form the movie

Sorry, I'm the type if a perfect person does something wrong, I have to point it out. :)

Usually there isn't much success in either direction as most people compare to the original and then find fault. To me, one exception was the fugitive. I thought the chemistry between David Jansen and Barry Morse in the tV version was great as was the relationship between Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford in the movie version. Usually if I like one I don't like the transformation. Example, the thin man movies with William Powell and Mryna Loy were some of the best flicks made, snappy dialogue, great acting, great story lines. The TV version with Peter Lawford was crap. Loved the movie "the third Man" with Orson Wells, it put the zither on the map. The TV version with Michael Rennie was pure garbage. The Honeymooners with Gleason and cast, now how can you compete with that? They tried with Cedric the Entertainer. Of course it bombed. Trying to cast Steve Martin as Bilko, replacing Phil Silvers was a taste of failure. Again McHale's navy, the Tv series was a wonderful show and the movie a bomb. The list goes on and on. I better not or someone will complain.

I think the worst TV series made into a movie was The Honeymooners. Any fan of the Honeymooners will feel the same way. I feel it was sinful to turn a classic into a piece of garbage!

THE HONEYMOONERS film was pure crapola!!!
i remember back in the 80s they talked of a revival with Tom Arnold in the lead--- and they planned to keep it set in the 50s, i hated that idea
BUT when i saw the movie, i WISHED they had gone with Tom Arnold!!!

the movie was so bad!!! whats next??? remake I LOVE LUCY starring Lindsay Lohan and Ashton Kutcher??!?!?!?! for shame!!!!

was never a laugh out loud comedy

it was not even a hit at first, But over the years
we all grew to know and love the characters

when Henry Blake died, we all felt it

when Radar went home, we all were happy for him

we knew and loved the characters, which is why the finale was so moving--- because, unlike other sitcoms--- u knew that when they all went home, they would not see one another again--- so this was the last goodbye

The strange thing about MASH is that while it is technically classified as a comedy some of the shows greatest moments were the dramatic ones. Very few shows combined comedy and drama so successfully.
