Hi can anyone suggest a program (if possible freeware) to convert avi files to mpeg 2 so I can then use the files in tpmeg to create menus and a dvd

A great program I use is RIVA - it is completely free and you can get it at this link:

By the way, you can always search www.download.com for free software to use for various applications....

RIVA is not for creating Flash files - it is for converting flash files to other formats like mpeg and avi but sometimes those programs allow you to convert various formats between each other. Either way, as I said before, you should go on download.com and search for a free program that will do what you are looking to do

but this is for creating FLA files correct? I need a avi to mpeg convertor..

That's just one site that you can see it on.

I may be mistaken, but dragging the files into DVD Lab may demultiplex them into .mpv files (I always drag VOBs, works every time). I see, ok you're using tpmeg. I always use DVD Lab and I don't know if you've tried that but I can't recommend it enough.
