View Full Version : This isn't a REUNION, this is Bullsh*T
TVFactFan 08-28-2006, 10:14 PM Not only are they showing season 1 eps again but the Cast is not TOGETHER like I thought they would be. They are in different locations. What was the point of that? I'm turning the GAME back on because this is GARBAGE
ThomasE 08-28-2006, 10:37 PM Oh, Solomon. Take it easy for for Jalessa's Sake! I love what I am seeing. I am running the DVD right now recording it.

I was under the impression that we would see the entire cast together talking to one another in between the eps. This is a waste of my time
Brieannas21 08-28-2006, 11:12 PM I just got home....But from what I've seen so far, I have to agree with Solomon it's a waste of time, This is false advertisement.

In the past week, Domino's and now N@N has PLAYED GAMES with me and I DON"T LIKE IT_lol
ThomasE 08-28-2006, 11:31 PM Dude, don't call it quits yet. There are supposed to be interviews online tommorrow night with the cast. I think that there is supposed to be some shots of the cast greeting one another. I like the setup that they have going now. Totally Cool.
ThomasE 08-28-2006, 11:46 PM I just finished watching another Promo and Jalessa has more kids? Col. Taylor is almost 62 years old. I assume that he is still married to her. LOL. Do it Col.!

I thought you liked season 1.
TVFactFan 08-29-2006, 12:30 AM I thought you liked season 1.
I already seen it, I wanted to see the other seasons of ADW. I do know that this show is in the same category of Who's the Boss, ok to watch on TV but not buy on DVD

Who's the Boss was sweet and sappy, ADW was totally different to me. I would buy it on DVD if it was uncut. Seasons 2, 3, 4 and 6 were my favorites.
ThomasE 08-29-2006, 08:35 AM Why not season five, Brie?
I would really love for the cast of A Different World to do a reunion movie. I don't care for the restrospect shows where they show clips for two hours straight. I really enjoyed the Growing Pains and Facts of Life Reunion movies.
I like that in the snippets we have seen during the marathon that they are in character and they're referring to each other as their tv personalities.
Ireneparalegal 08-29-2006, 01:45 PM I agree with Brie and Solomon, it is a waste of time, and not what they made it sound like to be. And seeing ADW start again from the beginning, this makes things so damn confusing.
Brieannas21 08-29-2006, 04:57 PM Why not season five, Brie?
Because a lot of the episodes were about Whitley and Dwayne trying to make it seem like they weren't in love when they were, and season 5 had Byron in it, and I didn't care for his character all that much. Although it had a couple of great episodes, but it was just a depressing season to me.

Let's just say I'm not watching no more eps of the ADW Stupidthon this week-lol

Well I am because tomorrow they're going to show two of my most favorite episodes.

They are airing the eps in a STRANGE ORDER. My dinner With theo was on Last Night

I know that's just N@N stuipd ass. Ever since ADW started on N@N they haven't aired the episodes in order. But tomorrow they're gonna show "A World Alike" and "The Getaway (1 & 2)."
Ireneparalegal 08-29-2006, 06:16 PM I have a question...the second episode shown was the "pilot" episode, the first one shown was abt Denise and her not liking Jaleesa as a roommate. Why wasn't this one the pilot episode?

I don't know, 227 did the samething, except on 227 the pilot aired like 5 or 6 episodes into the show.

Because when the idea was proposed and production finally got a good pilot idea, the pilot episode was made and shown to NBC and the show got picked up. From there, episode one was made for the purpose of backstory between Denise and Jaleesa and to show the beginning of a new year at Hillman. It makes total sense, but the problem is that some little may ask "Mommy, Why is Denise's hair long in the first episode and then sort in the second episode and then long again in the third episode?"
My favorite quote from the snippets that have aired is:
Whitley: ...best selling author with my new book, "Southern Women don't get ugly."
Jaleesa: (reading title) "Southern Women don't get ugly? (smirks) She must be from Boston."

MichaelKane20 08-30-2006, 12:15 AM I seen all the clips but why they never show Kim
felicitylen 08-30-2006, 10:57 PM Where is Kim? I wonder why she's not apart of the "reunion"?
TVFactFan 08-31-2006, 12:08 AM Where is Kim? I wonder why she's not apart of the "reunion"?
Maybe she had better things to do-lol
Ireneparalegal 08-31-2006, 01:03 PM Maybe she had better things to do-lol
She probably didn't want to be part of this "cheesy" reunion...she probably stated, "This isn't no reunion...no thank you!"

Has anyone ever noticed that the Pilot episode's first scene is a reshoot that they did so they could incorporate the characters of Stevie, Whitley, and Dwayne? Remember that, in "My Dinner With Theo" (another episode shot earlier on) those characters weren't added yet. It looks like Denise is wearing a wig or something too in that scene. Look for it next time it airs! :D
Couch Potato 05 09-01-2006, 02:26 AM The time it took for all the actors to shoot these commercials, they could have shot a REAL one hour reunion show! I'm disappointed. I really liked this show & I still do!
JuicyCoutureGirl 09-05-2006, 02:55 PM In the past week, Domino's and now N@N has PLAYED GAMES with me and I DON"T LIKE IT_lol
:brent I thought it was okay, it was kinda cute much better than watching Fresh Prince and Full House five million times but i'm mad they shorten it to only four episodes a night. I wanted to see the episodes with Matthew, Freddie's cousin, and a few others.
BTW: Domino's? You eat that nasty pizza. Had to send it back two weeks ago because it was undercooked and had a fly on the pepperoni.:(

Thank You for pointing these things out. BTW, to the dominos comment. Wow!
"My dinner with Theo" was definitely shot out of sequence. Some segments were filmed in 1987 and towards the end of the end of the 1987-1988 season we see some shot that were added in. Have you noticed that Theo has a high top and deeper voice while on the phone(1988) with Denise but when he arrives at Hillman he had a boxed hairdo? (1987) Also, his voice is not as deep when he talks.

Domino's has been one of my favorites for years

You kill me!!! :brent I onced ordered a thin crust pizza from Dominoes and I regretted it. THAT SUCKER WAS FLAT AS ROADKILL...hell, roadkill is thicker than what that pizza looked like. It was thinner than the damn cardboard it came in!!! NEVER AGAIN!

Ugh not the thin crust!!!! I never cared for Dominoes in the first place but nobody felt like cooking that night, let alone making an Wendy's run(never mind that I just got off of work and was tired as hell.) so we had to order a pizza but noooooo my little girl wanted Dominoes(she's a little blonde version of Whitley Gilbert, the princess!)
I almost screamed when I saw a fly on the pepperoni. Had to send my sweetie up there because I was going to go off if I went up there.

the only time we get Dominoes, is when, like you said, no one wants to drive!!! I prefer my pizza from a place here called TOPPERS. They are THEE BEST!!!! But expensive...well worth it though. ;)
Brieannas21 09-05-2006, 06:58 PM Domino's pizza sucks, their Pepperoni would give anyone a heart attack and stroke all in one, it's so damn salty. I would order from Pizza Hut before Domino's.

Wow is right!!! It took the wrath of god from keeping me from jumping into my car and going over there to pimp slap them! Thank god my sweetie went for me, has more patience than me!
But yes, I have noticed that silly boxed hairdo that I always hated on him. I thought I was losing my mind. I had to do a double take for a while.

We don't eat pizza that much in our house but the little one wanted that nasty ass pizza because of the browine commerical. I was so mad at Dominoes, I almost threw an Olivia fit!
Brieannas 21:Yes, the pepperoni is way too salty!!! I would have preferred Pizza Hut but was overruled(my sweetie has NEVER had a slice of pizza..ever, but of course, the baby wanted that pizza.)
