I took a few audio production classes in college where we learned to edit reel to reel tape. Do they still do that anymore, or is it all digital?

Doesn't everyone drink their ovaltine in their Capt. Midnight mug.? Ovaltine was chocolate granules that you mixed with milk and the sponsor of the Capt. midnight show. Still watch the serials of the 30's and 40's and have almost all that werever made. I can relate to all of them.

Here is another link to the past.

Radio Stations still have them as back ups, but mostly everything now is digital.

I remember all of them! I have my Erector set (and my dad's from his childhood), and I still have a Brother AX-22 typewriter that I bought in February 1989.

Telephones without push buttons
When I was really young we had a rotary!

Mimeograph copier machines
I just remember my teachers in like K-2 giving me
copies with purple ink that rubbed off...I guess that's
what a mimeograph was?

Phonograph records and turntables
I own one record (Barry Manilow), but nothing to play
it on, and I can't remember having a record player.

Black-&-White television sets
Only really small portable ones.

Reel-to-reel tapes
No clue what that is.

8-Track tapes
Not around in my lifetime....but I saw one once at
Savers!

Beta Video Recorders
Nope

Typewriters
Yup....typed on one for a while.

Tinker Toys
Nope

Erector Sets
Nope

We've been cleaing out the attic at Mom and Dad's this week, and we've come across quite a few "vintage" items.

Timex Sinclair

Electronic Name that Tune

Simon

Dark Tower (I loved this game!)

And a CD player that only takes one CD at a time!

Interesting you mention "name that tune" This was a show with George DeWitt as the MC. Two folks sat in chairs and a song was played. When you guessed it you ran up to a rope and pulled it which rang a bell. Cute tv show. Leslie Ugguams was a contestant as was Eddie Hodges who went on to star in the movie music man.
