Mixed Feelings
Starring Tim Allen as Mike Garrett, a divorced Michigan landscaping entrepreneur, who's personal life as well as his family's lives are getting more hectic as the days go on. Mike and his ex-wife, Tracy (Elizabeth Perkins) were married, had three kids, then divorced, and now (after being divorced three years) is reconciling with Tracy. Mike and Tracy's three kids are: 21-year-old Kyle (Sean Faris), 19-year-old Justin (Drake Bell), and 15-year-old Holly (Emma Roberts). Kyle had graduated high school and enlisted into the Marines (just like his good ole dad). Yet, Kyle suffers slightly from Post Traumadic Stress Disorder (due to witnessing his buddy die, other war trauma) and wants to keep it a secret from his family. The local garage band "Black Hazel"s lead guitarist-Justin is a recent high school graduate who is deciding to take a year off to "find himself and his true calling". Holly is a high school freshman who suffers with everyday high school drama (gossip, cliches, wanting to fit in, boys, etc). During Mike and Tracy's 3-year-divorce, Mike had an on-and-off relationship with a former exotic dancer named Christine (Elisa Donovan). But Christine and Mike broke up after Mike realized how much he wanted to get back with his ex-wife. But that's not all, Christine had gotten pregnant with Mike's child during Mike's divorce with Tracy/relationship with Christine. Mike and Christine have a 18-month-old daughter-Paige. Mike has sort of "paid off" Christine and Paige, now that he's back with Tracy-who also wants to get back with Mike yet isn't too sure if it will work out the second time around.
In the series premiere, Mike and Tracy's son Kyle returns home from the Marines permanently. While back in town, Kyle hits up the bar scene with his buddies and bumps into a far-too-familiar face--Christine. Yet Kyle and Christine had never met nor does each other know how Mike is connected to the other. Yet Christine and Kyle hit it off and end up becoming a couple.
