You know what. These idiots are responsible for the Phillies SURGE TOWARD the playoffs and lost to them last night and losing again tonight. So the Mets think they can just turn it on when the postseason starts? I thought the Philly sports Media was crazy for saying this but I think the Phillies can reach the WS if they win the wildcard. I mean is there any team in the NL that is DOMINANT?? I thought the Mets was the NL Powerhouse, boy was I wrong. They STINK

11 - 5 Mets in the 7th. This is why you don't say a team is losing a game after only the 5TH INNING!!!

Well it was looking like the Phils had the mets number after going up 5-2 after just beating them last night. I saw it was 7-5 and came back it it's 11-5, did someone hit a grand slam?

No, it was a few doubles with runners on 2nd and 3rd back to back.

Yeah I see they won, but the Phils don't lose too often when they have a 3 run lead which is why I thought it was over

The reason the Phillies have been surging isn't because the Mets "stink" it's because of Ryan Howard. That guy has been carrying that team since the All-Star break. If something happens to him, then the Phillies will be done.

It was because of the Mets pitching, it stinks. That's when the Phillies starting playing with confidence after the Mets gave up 26 runs in two nights here in philly. I honestly thought the Phillies was no longer going to be in contention for the wildcard but I was wrong

It was 24 runs, not 26. And after that 2nd game, the Mets have gone 8 and 2 and the Phillies went 7 and 4, so it's not like the Mets pitching has been so bad that it kept them from winning. You can't say the Mets stink just because they give up a couple of wins to a team you don't like. How come the Mets can sweep the Rockies and Cardinals and you don't say anything, but they go down 5-2 in the 5th inning to the Phillies and you start an angry thread about them?

Because this is a team the Mets can see in the playoffs and I don't think they want that

If Tom Glavine was done for the season, I would say the NL would be up for grabs. But he is not, so the Mets should make it to the World Series. If they don't, it would be a huge failure.

Judging by the bad plays in the outfield tonight, maybe the Phils shouldn't have gotten rid of Abreu. At least he could catch a line drive.

It's all over Solomon. The Mets just beat the Phillies in their final regular season meeting today, and the Mets win the season series 11 games to 8. If they play each other again in 2006, it'll be in the league championship series, so until then: no more negative Mets threads.

I think the Phillies are a dangerous matchup for any NL team in the postseason. Well the only way i would create anorther negative Mets thread is if they get knocked out the playoffs by the phillies.

If that happens (with the Mets having the best record and the Phillies being the wild card) that means the Phillies will be going to the World Series.
