It's so obvious-lol Julie who is 17, like Thelma was 17 on Good Times, was in love with a 42 year old man just like Thelma on Good Times. Julie's Father even said the same thing to Julie's 42 year old boyfriend that James Evans on good times said to Thelma's 42 year old boyfriend which was-"Just don't call me DAD"

LOL

The only difference is on this show the storyline was expanded to a 4 part episode, on Good Times it was only a one episode story

I don't know if it is true, but Edith's "near-rape" episode of All In the Family was rumored to have been written for the Ann Romano character. They had last minute plans when they thought it was too obvious to happen to Ann. They said it was "too easy" to happen to her because she was supposed to be a young attractive woman.

They wanted to shock people by showing people that a sicko rapist would want to attack a grandmotherly type like Edith Bunker, so they rewrote the script. I wonder if Ann would've thrown a hot cake on the guy? All she would've needed to do was to turn on that temper. That would clear any room.

Well I think it was, the GT ep was aired in 1974 and that ep was aired in 77. So maybe someone who wrote for Good Times went ahead and later wrote for ODAAT
